Re: Panasonic Plasma TC-P50S30 Viera 2011 with vertical lines
Thanks "newtothis". Is there anyway to verify a bad panel...or is this just a symptom? What would cause a bad panel with these symptoms? Would it be bad components, process, or is this something that is indicative of Panasonic panels?

Panasonic Plasma TC-P50S30 Viera 2011 with vertical lines
I just picked up a dead (no standby light) Panasonic and opened it up. Discovered that the power board had 2 blown fuses (radial through-hole). Replaced the fuses and still no standby light but had standby power. Powered it up and WOW what a picture. I had a Roku hooked to one of the HDMI inputs. However, it had horizontal black bars and one area (maybe 1 inch wide of vertical bars (red, green, blue) which went down 3/4 of the screen. I took care of the horizontal bars, but I am perplexed about the vertical bars. Still no standby light. I have little experience with plasma. Just finished repair...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi everyone, I've been around awhile fixing TVs (newer LCDs, LEDs) for a hobby. I've just finished repairing an old 2006 Maxent 42" plasma (learned some things) and now on a Panasonic 2011 50" TC-P50S30 with some issues. Background is technical can use most repair equipment...fairly good at taking things apart...sometime putting them back together. Very good and useful information on this site. Greatly Appreciated.

Re: Proscan 40LD45Q Power Supply not turning back lights on, no HV fault present.
Thanks for the response...I've been working on this Proscan for about a week (off and on). Just put it back together this afternoon...turned it on red (stby) to blue (on) but no image. I did go back and check the HV filter measured 386VDC and noticed that the backlight hit for about 2secs then off...but unit didn't go to stby. Going to measure the readings at balancer board. Thanks will post what I find.

Re: Proscan 40LD45Q Power Supply not turning back lights on, no HV fault present.
SATTECH200...did you resolve this issue?? I have the same problem...connector arced and burnt connector. With HV wires not connected the on (blue) light remained on. All voltages COLD side are good 5,12,24vdc. Took HV transformers off to test, replaced connector, replaced the 2-5pico farad caps...plugged it in.. now it seems no HV voltage available at connector. With the voltage seen on this thread. I'm going to double check all voltages. Hope to hear you had some success.
