Damn, I was googling a completely different code trying to find a replacement.

That said, I got one of my two 245bw's working! I believe it was the resistors that made the difference. Tested before resistors were replaced, with no luck. Tested post-replacement, voila! (note the somewhat shady mcguyvering after I accidentally burned and ripped out the circuitry on the board)

Should I bother buying a new board for my second monitor? Just found one on ebay, but I worry that the caps may be of subpar...

Can anyone provide a link to purchase the 245bw's psu board?

A clunky soldering iron and limited personal experience led to some potentially irreversibly burnt boards on my end. Figure it's worth just shelling out the $60/board instead.

Sorry about that, and thanks for attaching them toasty. I'll do it myself when I post pics from my second monitor.

Toasty: I'm a complete newbie to anything under the hood here. Could you specify which is the mains cap? Would that be the giant one? (board says "cp803"; cap says 450WV, 82mF).

I assume that's all I'll be looking for when shopping for replacements too; the working voltage (had to google that) and the capacitance? You guys have a suggested store for someone in Canada?

    Thanks so much for the...

Going to try posting new pics here since the last ones evidently weren't clear enough for you guys to give any feedback on.

I'm really desperate now - my second of two 245bw's just broke down (I have yet to take apart the second one) and I need to work with them so I really need them fixed asap. Happened to find out that a friend has a soldering kit too which was a nice surprise.

Please let me know if these are clear enough and if you think it's repairable, or if I should start scraping up funds for a new display....

Hoping to get another success story here, looking for help on what to replace and how. My 245 started clicking, if I remember correctly, kind of quietly for about a week before it went dead. Power still turns on, but the screen is completely black. No gx settings help, almost positive it's internal with the monitor unless I've completely overlooked something. Thank god I normally dual-monitor

Took it apart; here are some 'overview' photos of every board, front and back. I noticed some kind of scum on the back of two of them, but don't...
