    Thank you for your reply!. Yes this situation is a little sticky since they were donated to us, we aren't the orignal purchaser, and they are out of warrenty by about a year...

    I am a huge do it yourself-er, EXCEPT when it comes to soldering. I think that I would be rank in as the worlds worst with a soldering iron! I might consider doing it on one or 2 boards if nothing else pans out. I am hoping to maybe lobby gateway in some way if we get an ear of a sympathetic rep., we are a non profit, foster...

  • Gateway e4100 Intel 865GLC bad caps

    Hi everyone. Awhile back we had a problem with some newer dells that had bad caps and we were lucky enough to qualify for a new motherboard/processor from dell under their return program (out of warranty but they still took it).

    I just got in a bunch of Gateway E4100 with Intel 865glc motherboards. (Donated to us, we are a non-profit organization who tries to keep our computer costs minimal by using donated equipment)
