Re: vizio vo42oe 42"lcd heat problem
The caps look ok visibly, could the problem be internal? Where are the reulators located on the power supply?

Re: vizio vo42oe 42"lcd heat problem
So pull the main board and take a look for a bad solder joint, if I find one just re-solder it?

Re: vizio vo42oe 42"lcd heat problem
I didnt smell anything, like the burned electronics smell. In the thread topic I said heat problem, it actually was more like when the tv finally warmed up it would turn off and on off and on. Then like I said earlier in the thread now its just back light no on and off just solid backlight.

I never took out the boards I just took the back cover off and the metal cover off of the video board. Does that change your answer at all Plain Bill

Then it turns on and off and so on just like alot of others on here that seem to have the same problem. The tv doesnt make any popping noise, I have looked at both boards very closely and all the caps look fine no swelling or bulging. Someone on another site had said it was a heat sink problem, but that didnt seem to make any sense to me but then again I dont repair electronics for a living. So if...Last edited by Grn94hatch; 09-17-2011, 05:30 PM. Reason: Trying to upload pics and cant for some reason
