  • Re: LG 55EC930V OLED Is panel OK?

I've got test pattern when turned power supply on. Did not do test points.

I get green, red, blue, white, black screen. All colours has specific distortion, see attached photos.

I haven't used external power supply. It would be more convenient, but... thanks for letting me know.
Had some food. Now I am happy to proceed with testing.

I want to double check that I would not make mistakes.
In the photo I have market where I will connect 12 V.
And I will need to test screen on pins that I have marked in red square, am I right?
Is it OK to use external power supply for 12V?

I have small workshop in my house.
There is an old oscilloscope in my storage. I do not know if it is still working. Never used it just turned it on once 3 years ago. I did forgot a little how to use it as last time used it 15 years ago in University.
I can try something with it only tomorrow afternoon.

Tried with LG remote to turn on TV and with phone pressing IN_STOP command.
    No difference. Still same clicking.

Ar you sure that its main board fault? When yesterday I did tests, screen had white line.

Tried my luck pressing IN_Stop 100-200 times. TV does not react to this command. Tried both apps. One that I have and you've sent. No difference.

I have tired this command on other LG TV. It did not start that TV too. I had to turn TV on to activate this command. But its other LG....

Are you sure that In-Stop command should start TV?...

    Remote came with TV AKB73975761.
Could you please guide me how to use In_STOP command?...

    I do not know

When TV is plugged in to socket I get barely lit grey LG logo.
Turning TV on relay clicks logo lights up when relay clicks again logo fades out no more light on it. If pressed once again power button logo lights up and fades into no light.

Exactly same behaviour when LVDS cable disconnected....

    Tried power only button.

P201 same voltages as previous test.
    P201 I get 24.1 V for a 1 second then drops to 0 V.

When I was reading 12 and 24 volts without main board doing SMPS testing.
    P201 11.9 V and 24.6 V. P202 24.1 V. P202 after some time with car bulb dropped to 24V exactly.

When all cables connected I get different readings.

    P201 11.8 V, 25.2
    P202 1.2 V

Panel or t-Con drawing too much power?

Tried all 4 HDMI connections. No sound.
What I have noticed when I turn on TV I can see red light in optical port.
If LVDS is connected it stays on 1 or 2 seconds longer compared to disconnected LVDS.

I've been using POWER ONLY button on service remote. After using this option on other LG TV it switched to analogue TV. So it should be same on this OLED. In that case I have to change input to HDMI to get sound an I right? TV does not respond to remote as it goes to protection mode.

    Tried...

UC18 was under silicone thermal pad. Marks on chip are from the pad.

I've bought faulty OLED TV. When pressed power button it Powers on for 2-3 seconds. Relay clicks for on and then off click. LG logo fades out.
Checked power supply according to OLED SMPS Testing manual.
All voltages fine. Bulb test fine.
Installed MyRemocon on android device with IR. Pressed "power only" button. Got same cycle like with normal remote.
Inspected LVDS and can 4 cables that goes to panel. Panel cables as new. LVDS contacts slightly discoloured. Cleaned with contact cleaner and brush. No changes.
As member Diah offered disconnected middle two...

  • Re: UN55B6000VF white screen with disconnected T-Con

Most probably you will need to replace some of the SMD caps as from photos I can see that they are damaged by corrosion. Ribbon cable that connects board to screen will have to be cut slightly (just not too much) approximately 1 mm. All traces have to be connected back together where corroded. Tiny wire can help connecting them. SMD components that are not damaged should be reflown I do this this with solder iron and a lot of flux. It is job that requires precision and skills, possible to repair. Had tree TVs like that 2 managed...

Power supply is fine. All caps are within range and ESR still good on them.

Main board programs blank eeprom chip with default settings.

Somehow forgot to do this on this board and was scratching head for solutions.

Newer Samsungs do not have this easy fix any more.

Issue solved. Just now remembered that I have not replaced eeprom IC1803 chip just in case.
Soldered new blank chip in and its working fine!

I have Samsung LE40R88BD TV. No picture.
Problem have been isolated to the main board. With other main board TV is working fine. No problems at all.
So with this main board have sound, backlight is working. No picture. Totally black screen. 12V to T-Con board is supplied.
Where should I be looking for problem?
Attached two photos of the main board.

  • Samsung UE46D8000 Power Supply BN44-00427A voltage fluctuating.

There is Samsung UE46D8000 that was working perfectly. Now voltages on power supply BN44-00427A is fluctuating.

As far as I know outputs from power supply should not fluctuate. I can hear quiet noise from part. It is like clock ticking every 2 - 3 sec. Whenever it is connected to main board relay is clicking.

This is what I am getting whenever I am measuring voltages on output to main board:

    1. 0D_Level 0.7-5.2 V
    3. 0D_ON/OFF 0.7-5.0 V
    5. GND 0V
    7. B13V 0.7-2.6V
    9. B13V 0.7-2.6V
    11. Vamp 0.7-2.6V
    13. Vamp 0.7-2.6V...
