Hello everyone! I know this is a cheap card, but it's the majority of cards i have coming in my bench to work, so i can still make some money on them, it's a RX 560 4GB from gigabyte. When it got here it was not giving a picture, so i noticed it had a bad bios file, after flashing the correct one it started working again.
Then whenever i try to run stress tests the board will lose the picture, but the lights of the monitor keeps on, like on a black screen. All voltages remain stable, and the core keeps getting hot as if the board was indeed running the game or stress test. ...

This is the resistor that was faulty and causing the pex voltage to be unstable....

Re: GTX 1650 SUPER - Problem on pex voltage
Hey brother, thank you very much for answering. I actually found the culprit, i started measuring all resistors and capacitors around the pex voltage IC, and found one resistor that according to the datasheet should be 261k ohm, and it was measuring only 86k ohm. It was giving 12v on one side and around 7 on the other one. So i got another one from a donor board and replaced, and it ketp showing 12v on one side but the other was giving me 0.8v pretty stable, and the problem was gone! Card is working fine now.
I'll...

GTX 1650 SUPER - Problem on pex voltage
Hello everyone, i have an evga gtx 1650 super that i noticed is having a problem on pex voltage.
It happens that it will only work and give me 1v if i put some hot air above the Pex IC, i already replaced the IC as long as almost every resistors and capacitors around it, but it keeps like that.
do you guys think this could be a problem on the gpu core?
I put a picture of the part. The ic always has enable (1.2v) and vcc (5V) but the 1v will only appear if the area is a bit hot......

Please if you have this board could you help me with a few pictures from the back of the board?
I have one with some resistors missing i just would like to compare...

Re: GTX 1070 Dual 8GB - Short Circuit on 3.3v Line
Hey brother thanks a lot for you tip, i just got a little progress!!!
So, i injected 3.4V in the shorted line, and it was drawing 0.19 amps as you can see in the picture, so i started touching the board looking for any hot spots and i noticed one really hot almost burning my finger, which according to the boardview is the ''U502'', i'll post a picture too. So grabbed a hot air station from a friend and removed it, and the shorte in the pci-e connector disappeared!
I'm still not sure...

Re: GTX 1070 Dual 8GB - Short Circuit on 3.3v Line
I just ordered a hot air station but it didn't arrive yet so unfortunatelly i cant remove any components now, also i don't have a thermal camera, but i do have a DCPS! I should inject 3.3v maximum right? I'll do it right now and will come back to tell you the results...

Re: GTX 1070 Dual 8GB - Short Circuit on 3.3v Line
Hey brother i was wrong, the pci rail that is shorted is not the 3.3v line, according to the boardview it's the PEX line, i'm trying to trace it using the boardview and it connects to a single capacitor, and i dont know what to do next...

Re: GTX 1070 Dual 8GB - Short Circuit on 3.3v Line
Hey brother thanks for replying!
So let's go. I actually have a short circuit on the 3.3v line but 12v line is okay. So what you said about how to know if the gpu is still able to save, let me se if i got it right.:
I should supply a small voltage of 0.5-0.75v to the 12v line and the power supply should automatically disconnect is that right? If that doesnt happen, i should keep supplying the voltage for 30 seconds. After that, it the indicator shows a current of 0.5a to 0.68a and gpu warms...

GTX 1070 Dual 8GB - Short Circuit on 3.3v Line
Hello everyone, i hope you guys are okay. I'll apologize in advance for my grammar and spelling mistakes, since english is not my native language and i learnd it all by myself.
I just bought this GTX 1070 to start learning about gpu repairing, and it came to me in really good conditions, never have been to any repair attempt before, and the problem was that it would turn on, fans instantly went up to 100% and no image, it had v-core and the gpu would get hot.
I was watching a youtube video to learn which tensions to look for, and at some point i went to the fans...
