  • HP 250 G7 Keyboard Issues

    Hi! I have an HP 250 G7 laptop, model #: 18A94LT
The numbers on the top row of keys are not working correctly. When I press 1, "z1" comes out, 2 comes as "x2", 3 doesn't do anything, 4 comes out as "v4". 5 and 6 come out alright, 7, 8, 9 and 0 come each as "m7", ",8", ".9", "-0". The same thing happens when I press the lower row of keys: zxvbnm,.-
Tried booting with a linux live distro, and the issue persists, so I thought it was a hardware issue. I replaced the keyboard, but the issue still persists. As a last...

  • Re: MSI A320M PRO-VH Bricked

I'm afraid I don't have the tools to unsolder the chip to read it directly and then solder it back again.
Is there any chance this chip could be detected and read/write correctly with a programmer other than Neoprogrammer?

I read it through a clamp. It's worth mentioning that if I try to read the chip on another motherboard I get consistent readings every time.

    MSI A320M PRO-VH Bricked

    Hi!
I have a MSI A320M PRO-VH (MS-7C52 VER 1.2) motherboard, which originally was working with an AMD A10 CPU. My friend tried to update the bios to the latest version, and install an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G but it's bricked now. I've tried the old CPU and the new one, but I get no post.
I've tried reflashing the bios by putting it in a FAT32 formatted usb key named as msi.rom, but it doesn't do anything.
I've tried reading the IC chip with a black CH341A with the 1.8V adapter, but although I can see legible text in the dump, I get inconsistent dumps every time I try it, so I'm...

  • Re: Lenovo ThinkPad e495 BIOS update interrupted

Awesome! It worked! Thank you so much!
I noticed this laptop, although it has 6gb of ram and a nvme ssd, runs super slowly, even worse than a laptop with a celeron processor. Could it be due to the new bios, or should I try to troubleshoot this as something not related to that?

  • Re: Lenovo ThinkPad e495 BIOS update interrupted

    Hey, thanks for replying!
Yesterday using asprogrammer I got to make a backup of the original bios, but I'm afraid it's garbage.
After reading a lot of forums, and searching for a suitable bios bin like crazy, I found a post on this forum about someone with the same laptop. I downloaded that bios and applied it to the laptop, because I figured that it wouldn't be worse than its current status. It turns out I made some progress, because at least now it shows the Lenovo logo, but immediatelly after that, it beeps a few...

  • Lenovo ThinkPad e495 BIOS update interrupted

Hi! I have a ThinkPad e495 that doesn't turn on anymore after being shutdown accidentally during a bios update.
When I try to turn it on, the power button flashes rapidly about 5 times, the caps lock key stays on, and cannot shut it down by pressing and holding the power button. I've tried disconnecting the battery, and it turns off, but then again when I turn it back on it does the same thing.
I suppose I need to flash the original bios, and even got a ch341a eeprom programmer + 1.8v adapter. I have a couple of problems with this, first the bios file on lenovo's website has a fl1...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hello from Argentina!
Working in tech support for most of the last 20 years, I got stumped trying to find bios files appropriate for eeprom programmers and landed here. I'm reaaaally not experienced trying to revive computers this way... I hope you guys can help!
    Cheers
