Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Got my order from Digi-Key today. I somehow managed to order the wrong cap. Being the impatient person that I am (not good to be impatient, I know.) I took the cap out and tested it with my multi-meter. It sill showed good so I stuck it back in along with the 2 new MOSFETs and the new resistor. I held my breath as I hit the button on the power strip and... nothing... a good nothing. I was half expecting to hear pops and see flames. The back-light came on and the lcd powered up. Everything seems to be working! I'll know more...

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
The markings on the cap are "A/ R76 MKP" ".022 630" "U0 06MJE46" I'm guessing this is the correct one? http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/R463F222000N0M/399-5922-ND/2571356
EDIT: I did test the cap in the circuit. I get 22.33 nfRe: Need help identifying this resis.../2571356Last edited by ecallenil; 03-10-2012, 01:27 AM.

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
I'm not sure exactly where pin 1 is (there's no notch) I'm assuming pin one is on the bottom left when looking at the chip with the etching right side up. (See attached Pins.pdf)
Pin 11 = 1.748 kilo ohms
Pin 15 = infinite...Last edited by ecallenil; 03-09-2012, 10:36 PM.

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
OK, so the datasheet I thought was correct was for something else completely. I can't find an exact match for DLA001D but I did find a thread on this site (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17254) that says it may be a L6598 chip. I have attached the datasheet for L6598Re: Need help identifying this resis...t=17254)...

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Ok, since both MOSFETs are shorted I can replace them. My question is, what happens when I replace them and another component down the line is bad? Will it short the MOSFETs again? Is there more testing on other components I should do before replacing them? I don't have a lot of experience soldering and un-soldering SMCs but I'm willing to try whatever it takes.

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Here are the pics requested. I am using a better camera this morning so things should be better. I am also concerned about the solder covered traces (I think) in the lower left corner of picture "closeup2" For some reason the solder seems to have to not covered them completely. I would think this isn't a problem because the copper (I think) is still good but there has to be some reason for the solder, right?...

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Thanks for your help. I have attached pictures, both full view pictures and pictures of the board divided into thirds (top and bottom) If you need better pictures of any one part please let me know. I can zoom in on these really well on my computer however I'm not sure what they'll look like once uploaded.
The TV is a Westinghouse LTV-27w7 HD. For some reason I thought it as an LG until I looked at the model number so sorry for the incorrect title.
Again, the resistor that is blowing is R1010...

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Well, I replaced the resistor with the one you linked to but as soon as I plugged the TV in, the resister blew. Any advice on where to look next assuming that I used an appropriate resistor? I know enough about electronics to be dangerous but I'm not sure what could be making this resistor blow unless something down the line is shorted out or something. Any help is appreciated. I can post better pictures of the board if necessary....

Re: Need help identifying this resistor (LG power supply)
Thanks! That's what I was thinking. In my searches I've seen references to "fuseable resistors" Please forgive my ignorance but would this one work? I can't seem to find the 1/4 or 1/2 watt .1 Ohm resistors anywhere.
