Re: Need Help with Vizio VF550XVT1A Display Problems
I have one of these with a fuzzy screen that fixes itself after about 10 minutes. After a cursory examination nothing looks bulging or blown and everything else seems to work fine. Did you ever solve this problem conclusively?

Re: Sony kdl-40ex500 no power
Same exact problem with the charred cap. Got a full rebuilt kit including the millipede-looking IC from ShopJimmy and shows NO power (before it would blow the fuse every time). Any ideas?

Re: SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND more robust version
I'm thinking about using this one instead. Thoughts?

Re: SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND more robust version
Precisely. Yes, it goes both ways. This suggests to me that the diodes are being severely overpowered. I was thinking that one higher than 7A (I think that's what my replacement used) would be better at preventing this from happening in the future. What do you think?

Re: SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND more robust version
Source was shorted to drain on every one. Gate was closed. This happens on every MOBO in this laptop I've had to repair so far. I was unsure if maybe I should get a replacement without the schlottky diode? Maybe one with a higher amp diode?

Re: SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND more robust version
With the first two that died, yes. Plus, they lasted for a few days each. The last one that died I did not. It was on a board I picked up off of ebay. Lasted all of about a second.
Whatever this defect is I'm guessing it may be caused by a bad SMD chip somewhere up the line, but I can't find it and most of the time the laptops seem to work fine after a MOSFET replacement. I'd like to find a new fet with the same specs but less sensitive.

SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND more robust version
So I have had several Acer 7736z laptops with a shorted U60 mosfet lately. Some of the new mosfets have shorted immediately after I've replaced them, some of them are still running. I would like to find a more robust version of the same part. The part I have been using is a SI4812BDY-T1-E3CT-ND. Anybody know a better replacement?

VIZIO VO420E moving waves of black pixels
I have a VIZIO VO420E that has a very odd problem. When it first comes on most of the pixels on the right two inches or so are black, followed by waves and both vertical and horizontal lines that vary rapidly. Once in a blue moon all the pixels come on for a few seconds. Never seen anything like it. Main board, T-con, or panel? Thanks!

Re: LG model RU-23LZ21 blowing inverter fuse
I have the same inverter with the same problem. I tested the transistors and they all appeared to be good, but obviously, I missed one (nothing toned, though). So I shorted the fuse (just to test it, then I'd get a new one...), and one of the SI4532 chips belched forth fire. Of course, I pulled the plug. My questions are two-fold:
1. Will replacing the transistor fix the board, or did shorting the fuse do permanent damage to other chips? Opinions?
2. I have some SI4812 chips I use for laptop motherboards. Will...
