Re: Lg 55ef950 oled screen artifacts
I was thinking to try to repair one of those boards or order new one if i could pin point which one of those 2 is faulty and responsible for the artifacts, the middle one should be the tcon board i suppose, but the one on right side is another logic board , that's why I am not sure which one is faulty

Re: Lg 55ef950 oled screen artifacts
The cpu? I was thinking more about gpu or memory fault as there are similar artificats on laptops as wel when gpu fails, but am not really fimiliar with television.
Also i couldn't find a diagram for this tv model
Here on the picture u can see there are 2 logic boards on back of the tv

Lg 55ef950 oled screen artifacts
Hello there, my tv is showing weird screen artifacts whenever I try to play something on YouTube, or connect to any hdmi device
Menus all look crisp and clear, YouTube video selection looks clear as wel, the artifacts only appear when i click on a video to play or switch to HDMI device
I have no experience with tv repairs only laptops
Here some pictures. Anyone have any idea what's the cause of this and what needs to be replaced to fix this?

Re: HP spectre x2 Blown IC identification
That part number doesn't look anything like the one on picture tho. I am trying to figure out what part this is?

HP spectre x2 Blown IC identification
Hello there i am beginner in repairing motherboards, i have a HP spectre x2 which had short circuit from bad USB port
I noticed there is a blown up component with the motherboard marking t301:
The image u see here(if it's visible) is from the same component from the other side of logic board (which is good)
I do not have schematics nor are they available from internet after searching
The resistance from pins on opposite sides are around 2 ohms
I would like to know replacement for this part or if it's possible to use something...Last edited by SMDFlea; 11-28-2022, 06:21 AM. Reason: Added "HP spectre x2" to title, added external image to badcaps

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
finally some progress! its now showing the adapter wattage after removing pq100 + pq101, and making a jumper wire (in my case 10ohm resistor) between pr101 pin1+2 with
and finally my brand new battery is charging !!
u have no idea how happy i am with all the help from you guys

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
So if i understand correctly, i could remove pq100 and pq101 and solder a jumper cable between pr101 pin 1 and 2 to bypass and let the data go through? (Since it's 0ohm resistor)...

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
Hey there, i am slowly going through the posts and trying all suggestions.
I have removed pq101 and voltage is still same
What confuses me the most is, you mention the pq100 gate should be 5v, if you look at the picture i just uploaded and from my understanding looking at the schematics, the gate is getting it's voltage from pr105 , is this correct? Cause the gate pin is directly connected to pr105 pin1. At pin 2 of pr105 there is indeed 5v, but that's on the other side.
The purple...

And there is nowhere on the schematic shown what voltages should be

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
Isn't gate of pq100 receiving voltage from 5valw and going through resistor pr105 which lowers the voltage from 5 to 3?
Cause psid-1 line is only sending 426mV...

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
Hey there, as mentioned i have allready replaced with a brend new power socket, also i have cut the 130w dell wires and connected a new jack to it, now the center pin voltage is around 200mV and only when connected does it show 3+v.
Still battery is not charging and unrecognized psu.
The battery i have inside is also brand new , but 0% charge
From what i understand you both are suggesting to replace pq100?
Just to mention, i am not professional at doing this kind off repairs, i am still learning...Last edited by jagiro84x; 08-27-2022, 08:03 AM.

Re: Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
Thanks for the fast response, could i test the pq100 before replacing it? It seems to me all the voltages are passing by normally, do you see anything strange?
The end of psid line after the resistor 33ohm has also voltage and it's going through the motherboard twards the UE1 chip which is controller. Ofcourse i can't test underneath the chip if the voltage is indeed coming through, that's my biggest fear that the ue1 chip has malfunction...

Dell XPS 9530 psu uknown/not charging
hello there ,
as stated in the title, the machine is not recognizing the adapter nor charging the battery, i have been stuck with this problem solving for almost 2 days now,, my eyes hurt and i just hope someone can point me to the right direction
the adapter in use is a original Dell Slim 130w adapter with small pin
the motherboard in question is : LA-9941p Rev 0.1
voltage on the center pin is always around 3 volts ( connected to the Laptop or not)
19 volts present as wel, the laptop works but only in low speed mode , stuck at 800mhz on all...

Elitebook 840 G1 Motherboard job went little bit wrong
Hi there
I am pretty new at the motherboard repair, and i have a question regarding one of the SMD components
To make the story short, i was busy repairing a motherboard with bad bios. I managed to reprogram both of the bioses and resolder them, but during the operation i lost 2 small smds by accident which are located just outside it. I managed to trace the line and it seems they are "affiliated" with the bios
From the images bellow you can see the schematic part and motherboard picof the bios area
The red arrows point to the 2 lost...
