Thanks Merchison. I just wanted to say that this fixed my issue as well.

My Toshiba 40XV645U had a failed backlight inverter, diagnosed by having a picture, on-screen display, etc., but no backlight. After opening it up I confirmed the failure by testing the MOSFETs and fuse on the inverter board.

I ordered a backlight inverter and it fixed the issue, kind of. I had a back light, but the TV would soon restart itself automatically once it got a bit warm. First it would take a few minutes, then...
