  • Re: Help with recapping

Thank you SO MUCH! I will go with the Nichicon HM 3300/6.3V 10x25mm as I'm not looking to get too much more life out of this computer anyway. The cost came around $13 and its just gonna be a pain to replace every cap that has a vent but its worth it. But the pads are extremely small to solder on and I might need some more practice..

ALSO the name isn't LELITE, I misread its "ELITE" and its 220 uF and the voltage is impossible to read and I accidentally punctured the top venting part with a pen trying to move it so I could read it, so...

I have about 15 LTEC caps, the blue ones right? So currently my list that I will replace is:
    The 6 Maroon KZG 3300uF 6.3V caps
MAYBE REPLACE: 15 Blue caps that say LTEC, with 1000 uF 6.3V
    2 GSC 470 uF 16V
1 Lelite 220 uF, cannot read voltage, it is cover and also could not take a picture of this one, its hidden between the CPU fan and some ports. Its the only lelite with vents on the board.
Dont know if I should replace: 1 RLG series 470 uF 16V cap
The rest of the caps don't have vents. Please correct my list if needed...

Thanks alot! and what exactly do you mean by 'Post'? So currently the ones that I know to replace are the 6 bulging maroon ones, the blue ones, the GSC's, and the RLG ones that have vents, right? And what would happen if i ONLY replaced the 6 bulging ones?

PCBONEZ, do the blue caps need to be replaced too? If so what would happen if I only replaced the 6 Maroon caps and tried to use the computer? I mainly play games on this computer.

Thanks for the help and I will try to take good pictures of the other capacitors around the board.

    Help with recapping

Hi, I have 6 noticeably bulging capacitors that are 3300uF 6.3V and I have no idea where to order replacement caps. The computer I'm recapping is a HP Pavilion a643n Desktop PC.

    Motherboard specs:
    ASUS name: K8N8V-LA
    HP name: Diablo-UL6E

If I need to provide more information just ask.
