Gtx 770
Hello guys, I have an pny gtx 770 with problems on 1 bank of ram. After desoldering the ram chip and measuring the pads, Byte 1 and 3 data lines are ol and no voltage drops are observed and ohms are maxed. The likelihood of all the data pads having a bad ball connection to the gpu core or the traces damage is low. I just want to confirm if this is a result of a damaged memory controller on the gpu die.Last edited by princeatom; 04-07-2022, 02:26 PM.

Re: Palit 980TI JetStream 6GB - keeps burning VRM(s) in 3d mode
I mean you got the possibility of 12v going to 2.5v caps. However everything is working so far so I'd just leave it.Last edited by princeatom; 04-07-2022, 01:53 PM.

Need boardview for MSI V277 1.2 (MSI AMD R9 280x)
Does anyone have a schematic or boardview of an MSI r9 280x?

Re: Palit GTX 680 2GB - Failure
The likelihood of all the ram chips being bad is low. All those write errors across the board usually indicates that the memory controller inside the gpu die crapped out. It's most likely half dead as you can still get to efi. I've never been able to fix a gpu with that symptom and it was a gtx480. The only other thing that could cause it is a bad or corrupted bios flash.Last edited by princeatom; 03-31-2022, 06:46 AM.

Re: Palit GTX 680 2GB - Failure
That's a fermi card and has the same bumpgate issue the older Nvidia cards had because they were being cheap. The solder balls inside the die and substrate might have degraded to the point where your gpu core is gone.

Re: MSI GTX 970 4G V316 1.3 - 5 ohms from 12V to GND
Grats so far, and yes that sucker is hard to remove. Gotta get someone to help you hold the heat gun on it and use the soldering iron at the same time. Otherwise it's going to take about a minute 30s or more to remove it with the rework station at 450-500c temp. If your not planning to use the choke later on.Last edited by princeatom; 03-26-2022, 12:25 PM.

Your gonna have to find a boardview or schematics. For the 5V, 12v, pex, 1.8v rail and memory resistances just search them up on google or youtube repair videos of similar cards.Last edited by princeatom; 03-26-2022, 08:35 AM.

Need help finding a Thermistor On Titan Black
I need help finding the NTC thermistor used by NCP81172 on the Titan Black. Pin 13, Which is TSNS, temperature sensing, is shorted to ground. The only thing connected to this pin is a cap and thermistor. I don't have another card to test if it's supposed to be shorted. I've probed the entire card and no luck finding it.
NCP81172 is the synchronous dual phase buck converter for the memory.
I've circled the chip with green and colored pin 13 in red.
If anyone has a boardview or schematic this would help me greatly....Last edited by princeatom; 03-26-2022, 07:47 AM.
