M1 macs do not have any SMC, so there is nothing to reset or bypass.
It gets into 20V mode, charges battery etc. but it's rebooting on Apple logo.

Hello there.
A2338 820-02020 13" Pro M1 came to me with small water damage near JF200 and JF201. After cleaning and replacing few capacitors (CY140, CY141 and CF400) it tries to boot, but after few seconds of Apple logo it makes a ticking sound and reboots.
I don't see any more corrosion on the board, some test points were damaged, so I scratched them clean.
I tried the board in other body, but it's the same, so it's not issue with peripherals.
I have reballed both USB controllers and UC300 (in case there would be hidden corrosion), but there is no change.... -
A1707 Macbook fan at full speed
Hello guys, I have this Macbook Pro with touchbar and it's acting up.
First it came as completely dead - I found out it was one of thunderbolt controlers. I removed it, laptop came back to life, but one fan was loud. I didn't have replacement IC, so I thought it was in panic mode or something.
Then new IC arrived - I replaced it, but it still is in full blast mode.
It gets to full speed right after pressing the power button.
I tried reseting the SMC and PRAM - no change.
I installed Fan control app - all temperatures are OK, right side fan works... -
Macbook A1502 not powering on
Hello guys, i have a Macbook Pro A1502 820-3476-A that has no orange light and does not power on.
I tried replacing the charging port - no difference.
Board looks very clean, no signs of corrosion.
It takes 0,01 A from power supply.
DCIN = 16,5 V
PP3V42_G3H = 3,4 V
PPBUS_G3H = 12,3 V
Adapter sense = 3,4V
SYS_ONEWIRE is 2,9 V. Is that correct value?
Any ideas where to look?

Oh my god, you are the best. I checked it - no short on those lines, so I replaced the charging IC again and now it works AND charges!
So the first IC was faulty. Good thing I ordered two of them.Leave a comment:

OK, original ASUS 150W adapter that shipped with this laptop connected, battery disconnected.
PQ21
D: 19,95 V 75 kohm to gnd
S: 0 V about 8 Mohm
G: 0 V 3,4 Mohm
PQ22
D: 0 V 200 kohm
S: 0 V
G: 0 V 5,5 Mohm
ACDET - 2,7 V
CMPIN - jumping around 0,165 V
CMPOUT - around 0,170 V
BOOT - 0,126 V
VCC - 20 V

I have no idea what happend, but after replacing the PQ21 and PQ22 the motherboard is dead again. I get 20V on VA+, but nothing on the VA. I put back original FETs, but nothing has changed.
When I plug in the battery it powers on normally, but still doesn't charge and now it doesn't run on AC at all.
I give up on battery charging, I just want the laptop to work on AC again as a desktop replacement. Is it bad idea to short VA and VA+ ?Leave a comment:

I have replaced both main and both charging FETs and again, no charge.
When I measure the PQ22 I only have 10,9V on VA line. That's too low, right?Leave a comment:

I have not replace it since the laptop worked on adapter just fine. But I have ordered 3 pieces to replace PQ21-23 and also 2 new charging FETs for PQ26 and PQ27. It should arrive next week, I'll let you know about the result.

BATPRES is 0V with or without the battery.
What is purpose of the PQ23 (removed) anyway?
I am not sure anymore, but I think I replaced the charging FETs from some other MB I had lying around. Now it has AON7410, it should have AON7506 according to schematic, but they looked simmilar enough for test. I can order new ones, but I doubt it will help

This board does not have PU38 and its components fitted.
ACDET is 2,66 V, ILIM = 0,71 V. without power it has resistance of 11,9k ohms.
PR225 should be 45k, measures 35k (on the board, so it looks fine), PR226 measures 12k.
Bat+ voltage does not increase.
PQ26:
S-D starts at 50k, goes up for 2M.
S-G 9,3k
G-D 3,75k
PQ27:
S-D starts at 15k, goes up for 150k
S-G 200k
G-D 200k

I don't think it is charging, voltage of battery is still the same - 11,52 V. With adapter or without.
MBATV is 2,15 V.

So I got a new original Asus battery and.... it's the same issue. Without battery laptop works on AC charger, but when I plug it in, it does not charge and works on the battery power.
But when I use some random 19V power supply, it magically starts charging. But only after a reboot. When I unplug and plug it again, then it starts using battery again.
With original PS it does not work even after a rebootLeave a comment:
