Re: Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with no display. Power supply is OK.
What an arse I am!
Swapped out the LEDS that flocko sent, all good, but got some dust in the screen, so stripped it down, to see that it was clear before full assembly, I managed to pull the right hand screen ribbon out whilst powered on, now the screen wont come back on, have I damaged the T-Con board or the LCD panel?!?! the Fuse on the T-Con board appears good. if I connect the powere with only one side of tcon board to LCD I get a clear screen with Lines on it but not HALF The picture as ex...

Re: Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with no display. Power supply is OK.
OK, so I am back up and running!
Screen is good, unfortunately flocko your LED's didnt arrive today, but I got a 9 LED STRIP from a 40" from a friend that works at the local recycling place for FREE!
Screen Backlight is set to 12 in the Menu (max is 20) so I'm hoping it will be good to go for a few more years, and I have a few spare LEDS just in case ;-)
screen is fine for what I need and I will sell flockos LEDS on, so if anyone needs them PM me.
Thank You for...

not having a go, just not willing to shell out that much, plus I need 4 LEDS not 3. have a local recycling place that may be able to get me a full strip for a Tenner.
Also I have tried to add here everything I have done to get mine working in the hope it will help others!...

At least 2 where yes, as for the First two I did at the beginning of the week, that might have been just me and my ham fistedness!
It will be the first menu I select once I have the new LEDs installed and re-assembled!
budm, do you think the LEDS in my previous link, I have ordered from Ebay will be suitable?...

Re: Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with no display. Power supply is OK.
YEAH! GOT it... BOO need 4 new LEDS!
After proving ALL LEDS with 3volt AA battery tester, put all back together, still no dice!
Turns out I did have my Diodes reversed! got it by plugging in each strip, with TV Powered ON, then measuring between Chassis Gnd and Top Strip +ve, then Chassis Gnd and Top Strip -ve, then moved down to Second Strip +ve, then Chassis Gnd and Second Strip -ve, then Third Strip +ve, then Chassis Gnd and Third Strip -ve got DC Voltage stepping down from 200V...Last edited by ralphup; 02-12-2016, 01:43 PM.

Re: Samsung UE32F5000 (UK model) with no display. Power supply is OK.
So I got time today to re-test, and using the 3v Double AA Battery test method I tested all LEDS, I went across ONE LED at a TIME no issues, then I did ONE LED then the Adjacent, and found a couple that seemed to have a mild short i.e. the The First LED on its own was Bright, the Second LED on its own Bright, but then doubled up One to Two, the Second LED would give a Faint glow so I took them off the Strip and used DIODES to bridge the Pads but Still NO Back Light ARRRHHHGGG!!!
I have ordered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121775807320?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT...

OK that is my next step then... but would you expect a Faint as in barely visible unless the room is in darkness, or decent glow?...Last edited by ralphup; 02-09-2016, 02:02 PM.
