Hello,
I need to replace a fuse on one of the graphics cards I am working on. It is a 1206 SMD fuse, white in color and has a "10" written in a blue rectangle on it.
How do I find a suitable replacement? What is the general rule to identifying fuses' parameters? I found something in an eshop near me (see photo) but am very hesitant to use this as a replacement....

Re: GIGABYTE GTX 1060 MINI ITX OC 3GB Component Identification
Hi Bozog, thanks, that seems correct, I got another card just like it (but the 6GB version) with an identical layout.
Do you maybe have the schematics or boardview of this card? I'm not getting NVVDD_EN signal and for the life of me I can't find the AND gate which should send it.Re: GIGABYTE GTX 1060 MINI ITX OC 3GB Component Identification

Re: Dell 2709W
And more progress from today morning. TL;DR I was poking around semi-randomly in hope of finding something.
I measured some more voltages and studied the pinout of the L4978.
IC701 / L4978:
At pin 2, for SS_INH it says "A logic signal (active low) disables the device (sleep mode operation)." So if I understand this correctly if there's no (sufficient) voltage at this pin, the IC is kept off? The next question then is where do I get voltage from?...

(oh no, can I not edit my previous posts?)
Here's a photo of the lines. I have the monitor laying face down on the table, so the photos are also funky....

Re: Dell 2709W
some progress:
The voltage across the big capacitor's legs is always 309V when plugged in, on or off.
The heating of the IC did nothing.
However, I now have a completely new issue - the monitor turns on but only displays colored stripes (pixel column by pixel column) and the buttons on the panel are unresponsive.Last edited by eidam655; 03-09-2022, 03:41 PM.

GIGABYTE GTX 1060 MINI ITX OC 3GB Component Identification
Hi,
I have a GIGABYTE GTX 1060 MINI ITX OC 3GB (GV-N1060IXOC-3GD) on my way and it looks like it's missing a component. Unfortunately there aren't any good high resolution photos of the PCB on the internet and I would like to order & replace this component - the U4017 on the photos.
Thanks for any help in advance!...

Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC missing capacitors and grilled one
Hi,
if you still have the card at hand, can you tell me what's the resistance to ground from this inductor (marked in red, behind the 12V -> 1.8V buck converter)? Mine measures at about 55Ohm and I'm not sure if it's not too low....

Re: Graphics card Schematics and Boardviews
Hello, I found a boardview of an MSI MS-V349 600-1G410-xxxx-100 on a polish forum behind a paywall, but it looks identical to the requested EVGA GTX 1060 (I am also currently working on this card).
It is the small format of the videocard....

Dell 2709W
Hi everyone,
I have a used Dell 2709Wb on my desk that works... Sometimes. There's two symptoms which I'm hoping have a common cause.
Issue #1 is that occasionally, when being turned off for a while, the monitor does not turn on. The power button does not react (nothing lights up), replugging the power cable does nothing. After being unplugged for a few hours, the first insertion still does nothing, but plugging it in the socket again but reversed brings it to life.
Issue #2 is that when working occasionally after an hour or two the screen switches...

Re: socket 775 forever... no, no, no...
I've had an ASUS P5Q-E in my pc for... 10 years? 12? Two years ago I had to replace it (for an identical board), but only because the PSU took it out as it went. I use a Xeon X5460 in it, though, there was a time when these were much cheaper used than the Q series.
Just my .02$.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi everyone,
My name is Adam and i took up electronics repair as a hobby; as something i wanted to learn. I already managed to fix a few graphics cards and I would like to learn more, so I'm glad i found this "old school" forum as the facebook groups seem not reliable for this purpose
