I'm finding most of this stuff a mystery. I have a Lenovo T480s 20L6, SN: PF-171NMK, and I'd like to figure out what's needed to bypass the admin password. I have what I think is a dump of the 25Q128JV.. Again, I don't know the steps to get this laptop running again......

i have a t480s (20L6) and none of what I read above makes sense...
"password in EC" means what?
somebody else says "t480 has no EC" - so who's right?
svod3 = ?
dxe patch = ?
lenovo auto patcher = how does THAT run when laptop won't even get to BIOS screen? bios password = doesn't go very far...

Hi. I'm on this site to look for a bios unlock for a T480s I found in the PC recycling bin at my work... I'm teaching my kid, meanwhile, how to solder/unsolder surface mount components and how to use a programmable chip reader/writer, like my ol' pappy taught me way back about 30 years ago.
