Injected 1V, it draws 1.8Amps and one corner of the CPU gets slightly warm (only visible with thermal cam, can't feel with the finger). So, it's dead CPU
All values are at the first post. Measured with chip removed:
Pin 5 – 0.4Ohm
Pins 7+8 – 5Ohm
Pins 17+18 – 0.5Ohm
Pins 12+13+14+15 - 4.6Ohm
Removing jumpers doesn't change anything all values remain the same to the load side.
Hello,
Need help. I‘m working with dead Lenovo V-15 ADA (motherboard GV451&GV551 NM-D151). The laptop is quite new, mfg date 2020-10. Can‘t find any schematics for it. One of the chip LV5028 had a burned spot on it. Before ordering it from China, decided to do some measurements with chip removed. And now I‘m not sure will the new chip solve the problem. There are suspicious readings (chip desoldered):
Pin 5 – 0.4Ohm
Pins 7+8 – 5Ohm
Pins 17+18 – 0.5Ohm
Pins 12+13+14+15 - 4.6Ohm
Found some datasheet of this chip (attached). Are theese...
Heat sinks removed, CPU's not getting warm on both boards. One board reads 0.1Ohm and another 0.2Ohm short. What's strange on the second board, that I'd say 30% of the mosfets reads 8Ohms Source to GND... Is that normal?
Hello!
Need help. Have two different dead laptop motherboards. One has a short on 3V rail, so I'm injecting voltage right there and it draws 8A, but nothing gets hot. Another board has a short on one of the mosfets. When injecting voltage, it draws 7A and the board is dead cold too. I'm inspecting using a thermal cam. What can be wrong? Where does those amps go? Since my power suply has a short circuit protection, for voltage injection I'm using Ni-MH battery, could this be a problem?
Hi, have dead X555UJ board. Short on +3VSUS line. When injecting voltage here all board is dead cold (monitored with thermal cam). Removed PJP8704, short is still there, but when connecting charger CPU starts to heat and there is a heat spot around PQ8811. Does that mean the CPU is dead?
