Tyler. Thank you very much for your response. There is nothing obviously wrong with the inverter boards so I think I am just going to replace them both. I read something that boards should be purchased as a set to insure compatibility. Is that a true statement?

And to Dgtech.... I already read all of the forum posts about my set before I posted a question. None of the answers fit my problem....

I have a vizio vw42l that I got for free. The guy I got it from said he heard a loud "zap" noise then the screen went black. When the power button is pressed the unit comes on for about 2 seconds then goes black again. I am somewhat of a hack and removed the back cover and visually inspected all of the readily accesible boards and could find nothing obviously wrong. One interesting side note. I powered the unit on with the inverter boards ungrounded and the unit came on and stayed on with a flickering picture. As soon as I grounded either one of the inverters the...
