Re: APC UPS cap, suitable replacement?
I see a 33uF on prime for $8, is that close enough?

APC UPS cap, suitable replacement?
I found a for sure bad cap in my old APC XS1500 UPS, it's a 22uF 400V 105deg electrolytic (CapX branded). Getting that exact value seems expensive, is there a another value I could get away with that's more readily available? It seems to be one of the main caps in the charging circuit (the part of the UPS that's malfunctioning).

Ok just went ahead and ordered the whole power board. $30 and hopefully done with it.

Re: TCL 32S3750 fails to power on
Had a second TV in the same apartment with similar symptoms here, if you don't mind taking a look there: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=768854#post768854Re: TCL 32S3750 fails to power on<br...st768854

Re: Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On
So I read as best I could and looks like 3 lines of alpha:
549887
61833
36D5D
The legs all probed 0.1V or 0.
I keep wondering if that burn mark near the mains input has something to do with it.
Something interesting, I posted this other thread for a smaller 32" TV. These were both in the same apartment during the storm and both have the same issue (seemingly no power). I didn't find any burn marks...

TCL 32S3750 fails to power on
I have a TCL 32S3750 which fails to power on. No standby lights or anything. This started occurring after a storm (Hurricane Harvey!). No visible signs of damage and I think the caps are all mostly flat. Here's a few pics:

One or two might be a little bulgy? I'm not really sure.

Main cap seems ok

I'm not sure where to start, though the main cap reads about 160V.I have a TCL 32S3750 which fails to power on. No...

Re: Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On
Checked between pin 1 and 5 and got 0.390. 0.557 in the other direction.
Here is the back side of the board at U501

Re: Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On
Ok gotcha, here's the connector:

Using pin 5 as ground, the only pins that showed non-zero voltage was pin 8 and 9, which showed 0.03V.Re: Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On

Ok, meter just had a dead battery and is working now. Both caps read about 160V.Last edited by impala454; 09-02-2017, 10:01 PM.

Re: Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On
Arg, I think my meter is messed up. Reading 14V on a fresh 9V battery and 1.9V on a 1.2V. I definitely was not getting anything out of the power connector though.

Vizio E601i-A3 Won't Power On
I'm trying to fix a Vizio E601i-A3. User says after a lightning storm the TV quit powering on. I looked at the power board and there's a slight burn mark near the power connector near the fuse. I'm not super familiar with these types of fuses so I'm not sure how to tell if the fuse is blown (it has continuity on my DMM). The electrolytics all look ok. I get no voltage on any pin of the mainboard output connector. Here's some photos:

Re: Dell - ST2410 - Flickering screen light and dark
Hi, I've got this same monitor and it's also flickering (hence why I'm re-using this old thread). I've replaced a few bulgy looking caps but to no avail thus far.
Here's a few photos:
It has been refurbished before (according to a sticker on the outside) and I immediately suspected and replaced the odd color cap (green), and the two 680uF brownish ones near the back. I wanted to post here and get people's thoughts before replacing the big one or proceeding further.

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 245BW
So I got the full replacement kit of caps, as well as the mains cap (separately). Once I got the mains cap in today I noticed in comparing it to the old one the old one was bulging quite a bit. So I just replaced the mains cap for now and that was it! Fixed right up!! Woo hoo!!!! And I still have the full kit for if/when I start losing the other caps. Thanks again everyone!
Oh and just to note, Bill, that cap you recommended was exactly the same specs but for some weird reason it was actually a bit smaller (pics below, the arrow is the...
