• Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password

    Hello 69d0b913,

Is there any way to read the configuration before overwriting it using the HMD/LMU ?

By the way, what is the difference between HMD and LMU ?

    Thanks...

  • Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal

    Hello everyone,

Any chance that this tool might be upgraded for the 10th generation like T14s intel ?
I have one which I can dump and post the BIOS and EC contents here if needed.

  • Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password

    Hello everyone,

Any update on how to remove supervisor password in EC / ITE ?
Pretty sure it's just a procedure similar to MacBooks with replacing "FF" to some region in the dump.

    Thanks !

Thanks for your precisions/details on that one.
Anyway, couldn't find out what is behind the acronym "LMU" ; May I ask for your help on that ?...

  • Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password

So just to sum it up and be sure that I've totally understood how these new models are built/working regarding the supervisor password removal :

After reading/writing MEC16xx chip with a blank/empty dump, there are some things that needs to be reconfigured.

Technically, from my understanding, MEC16xx chip contains these informations (nothing else to declare ?) :

Machine type
Model Type
Country code
S/N / Serial Number
BIOS/Supervisor password
Computrace informations maybe ?
...

Hello and thanks for your fast answer

When you say "fix the bios information", I think you mean the fact of having the "model type", "serial number", etc ... being wiped out when the MEC firmware is modified ?

That might be a concern as there might be a lot of informations to fulfill to get the system at the same exact status as it was before.

Should tool "Lenovo Maintenance Utility V2.02" might be of great help in the process ?
    Does it...

    Hello everyone,

Same here with a T14s Gen1 with a i7-10xxx CPU ... locked with BIOS password.

Any chance someone might share the method on how to remove the supervisor password ?

    Thanks

    Hello SMDFlea,

I know that this auto-patcher seems to be limited to 8th generation, but I was hoping that "maybe", by chance, it might work similarly on 10th generation BIOS contents.

So if I understand correctly, for now the answer is "maybe not" unfortunately.

    Thanks anyway....

  • Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal

    Hello everyone,

Any chance that this auto-patcher might be compliant with laptop models like T14s ?
I'm able to gather a backup from the BIOS chip using a SOIC-8 clamp.

I will try the auto-patcher first, but I'm totally open for your suggestions on these 10th generation models.

    Thanks !

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hello from France everyone,

I'm a BIOS modder that started with SLIC injections back in Win7 and server OS.
Over time I had to MOD bios for other reasons like :
    - Bypass some H/W white-listing regarding unapproved network cards (Ex. : for Lenovo laptops & other brands)
    - Remove BIOS/supervisor passwords for locked devices

Looking forward to contribute and gather help from time to time from forum members

    Cheers !
