I have a Dell 8400 with 5 - 1000 mic nichions and one 2200 mic that are bulged on top and I have them out for replacement.
Should I recap the whole board or which ones besides the bad ones?

How can I determine if the via's at removed caps lead holes are still intact and conductive. Can a damaged via be repaired?

Hi,
What great info. Found the forum while troubleshooting a 6 year old Dell 8400, No boot, screaming fan. Looks like bad caps on the MoBd. Will order from Bad-caps.
