I have an xps 15 9550 here, which won't boot, neither the screen diagnostics will start (pwr button + D).

I opened the device finding that the part around the processor got warm (touchable though). Fans will not spin even once. Light on power button is always on when connected to AC, but not when only connected to battery DC.

I included a photo of the motherboard which I did some probing on, finding that the encircled caps/diodes are shorted (red). I also encircled an IC on the board (green) which I think is the Alpha Omega Z5019QI, of which one side is not shorted...

Joining this thread as an student embedded systems, also debugging its first laptop HW. (post about that soon )
