Chipset problems???
is there a way to repair or replace a chipset on the motherboard? My daughter was on the computer and out of nowhere the moniter got no signal all the fans were still running.I tried a different video card and stil nothing. The msi 4 led stops at early chipset detection and stays there.

Re: Is it standard practice to change the wireing on the power supply connecters?
yes it slides into the conecter but the manual for the mother board says the four pin conecter is suppose to have 2 12v and 2 grounds.I have 1 ground 1 red wire which is 5v one orange wire which is 3.3v and one yellow wire which is 12v coming from my power supply.

Is it standard practice to change the wireing on the power supply connecters?
I just bought a MSI K7N2 Delta2 motherboard and I have a cooler master power supply #RS-430-PMSR.I don't think the wires are in the right places because the 4 pin connecter is suppose to have 2 12v and two grounds and it has one black wire one yellow wire one red wire and one orange wire.I'm no rocket scientice but I think thats wrong.
Please help.

Re: is my power supply bad?
I'm expecting it to post after I changed the three bad caps I found on the motherboard and it didn't seem to make a difference.D you think I should change the rest of the same size caps on the motherboard?
When I start the computer I looked in the back where the led code lights are and I cross refrence the to the manual and it tels me initializing ide drive controller and hangs there. The led's never change,it starts like that and stays. The similer thing happend before and I upgraded the power supply and it worked. Then I found this forum...

Re: is my power supply bad?
I pluged it in and turned turned the switch in the back of it on.And I used the black wire as a ground. What is the proper way to test it?And what would you use for the ground.
When I plug it into the motherboard it turns on and the fans spin.I forget if the fan spins when its not pluged into the motherboard and I cant test it now because I'm out of state working and I'll be back Friday.

is my power supply bad?
I just took a volt meter to the plug that plugs into my motherboard to test the voltage and I seem to be getting about 5 volts out of two of the twenty pins. This power supply is only about 3 months old. It's a cooler master I bought at compusa.I opened it and didn't see any bad capaciters or anything burnt.

Mica capacitors?
I have an old Minstrel Amp that came with my Rickenbacker steel lap guitar. The problem is is that it used to work and when I took it apart I found a Mica capacitor with a wire that is seperated from the body of the capacitor.Well I can't resolder it so I need to replace it.
Does anyone here know what I could use insted of this or do they still make these someware?
Wouldn't it be something to see motherboards loaded with Mica capacitors?

What caps do I need??
I have a MSI KT3 Ultra2 with a Via KT333 Chipset Based.I know some of them are 1000uf 6.3v 105c.But what I don't know is how do I tell the mm'S.I didn't find my board on your list. And do I have to change all of the caps or just a certain size because I see some real tiny ones.47uf 16v luxon black with white going up the side .the 1000uf TEAPO is green with gold going up the side.1500uf 16v KZG brown with white up the side.and 2200uf 6.3v KZG brown with white up the side.470uf 16v luxonBlack with white up the side. The only ones that I can see that have gone bad are the 1000uf.
I have ...
