Re: Calculating resistor values in parallel with Caps
It looks like snubber circuit, diode + cap + resistor but snubber usually don't use polar capacitor and the resistor usually in series with cap in PSU design.
There are ways to determined the resistor but it does involving removing the parts and not burnt.
Unsolder the resistor in question and check if it really dead or not with multimeter....

Re: Need Bios Fixer for Asus A407MA-BV002T rev 2.1
Thank you. it turns out outdated like you said.. thank you so much. i guess the stikcy thread need to be updated for clearing the pass, because there is no 08 like they said. i'm stuck because of that. simple solution.
Thank you

Need Bios Fixer for Asus A407MA-BV002T rev 2.1
Hello to all bios master, please i need help to fix the laptop.
it's Asus A407MA-BV002T the current state is locked by password, i tried to follow the instruction from badcaps sticky threads but it doesn't shown anything similar after checking 'amitse'.. the region is blank.
And after checking with ME Analyzer turns out the File System is error.
The IC is 25Q64FWSIQ. Bios dump attached....

Re: Thermal Cutoff/Fuse ID -Surge Protector
109C functioning: meaning that fuse will be blown up/disconnected after reaching 109C under minute or 30s or less.
103C holding: meaning the fuse would hold @103C 168Hours* without any load. (holding temp meaning max temp which fuse never break @0 Amp)
83c (10A): meaning the fuse can hold at 83C with 10A current load.
use resistive load, because outlets always in resistive load rating.
*designed product by Elmwood.
Use same spec 109C functioning temp. the hold temp can be...

Re: Inductor or resistor
Basically Coil are inductor because they have inductance value.
Your power supply design is very weird, it usually use with real coil not low powered inductance such as the picture, it blown because it can't hold the heat from current passing through. that's typical cheap power supply, they use wrong parts (cheapest) for easily blown out and you will decide to buy another)
if you unsure, you can bypass it with jumper wire, because line filter (EMI filter) should be after line input. or you can try the 1.5mH, it doesn't do...

Re: Mosfets for P600W24V Smps
You dare to disrespect legend?))
Most chinese smps use surplus component, so let's say they have big surplus of E13009 in China, well they will use E13009 almost in every design of their power supply.. That's why they tends to keep up the lowest price, and actually it helps a lot e-waste...

Re: Milwaukee M12 M18 charger repair
Check output diode, Optocoupler and cap beside the transformer.
If the transistor blow up, could be several factor including Output diode shorted.
If snubber goes blow up, maybe the optocoupler failed to make main transistor turn off so the energy goes to snubber, or the cap for "balancing" the transformer worn out (look at C10 and their friend) the cap usually use high voltage rating 1KV or 2KV or use safety Y Cap....

Re: Fluorescent desk lamp repair
2200pf/630V cap is for limiting current, it's pretty much weird because reminds me of some cheapo Driverless LED Lamp.
you can't change it to lower value because the cap would be hot enough because the current drawn too large for the value and the lamp may not turn on.. and the voltage rating should be same or more. Most green film cap only rated 100V, you must double check the rated voltage. Use polypropylene cap.

Re: Reusing power supply from HP LaserJet RM1-5315
Yes you can power this up, but once you plug the Line Input it will running, there is no standby mode. Standby mode in printer usually only on the main board, the power supply is actually running 100% but it doesn't draw much because the main board goes to standby mode.
Attached picture for explanation what parts on your power supply....

Re: Capacitor missing on GTX 1050 TI 4GT OC - Need help
Hii, if you have another 10uF you can try to parallel the cap, put it on top another. 22uF with 20% tolerance is around 18-26uF so 20uF is pretty much works. Or you can salvage from another dead board like motherboard, vga and hdd board. but 22uF usually in VGA or Motherboard unless you have strange hdd board.

Re: Neighbor has a constant drain on his car battery...
If you are worry about ECU doesn't go to sleep mode you can check the voltage pinout from socket that goes to ECU, with proper multimeter.
I have same problems with my dad's car. it turns out the relay is stuck, melted down inside and many cable stripped by rats causing parasitic leakage.
condition: around 2 Amps drawn, with bad 100Ah (real test around 40-60Ah) , so it should be 20-30 hrs completely dead but it didn't crank if left behind 10 hours. (as it should be because...Last edited by SMDFlea; 01-03-2022, 03:51 AM.
