Changing mosfet different brand same value
Hi.. i got a laptop with shorted highside mosfet
its NTMFS4C06N 30V/69A
i only have SM4336NSKP 30V/65A laying arround
it is okay to change with different brand?
i just worried its not compatible with pwm controller. The pwm controller is RT8819AGQW

Bat54cw make laptop not charging?
Hi all..
long story short when i disassemble a laptop (asus gl504gs) for cleaning. I found some component deliberatelly removed from the board by unknown technician.
turns out this component is a diode BAT54CW
For a power protection circuit
i installed this component and now laptop not charging anymore
its detect the ac adapter but not charging the battery
i removed the component again and know it start charging normaly
i just curious why this happen, i mean it should be there from factory but why when i installed it and it make the laptop not charging?... -

Hi. Ive been working on toshiba l645 that won't detect both hdd/odd in bios
I check the 5v_hdd and its only 4.1v (when the power on is triggered)
Does it mosfet or somekind of smd resistors?

Asus x453ma only turn on when plugged in (battery was fine)

Iv'e been working on asus x453ma that only turn on when the ac adapter connected
The battery itself was fine
So this is what happen
-plugged ac adapter
-trigger power button
-laptop turning on
-unplug the ac adapter
[B]Laptop still on with battery [/B]
-without ac adapter
-trigger power button
[B]And nothing happens[/B]
Have no idea what is going on
Charging sistem still works when laptop is turning on
And also when battery reach 100% the charging indicator still red. It should... -

Digging around and just found out that 5v/3v tps51225 was faulty and glowing hot

Hi all
I've been working on dell 3421 that won't turn on/charge
Specs: i3-3217U no discrete gpu
The behavior is
-won't charge (charging light up for 3 second and goes away)
-won't turn on if both battery + power adapter plugged in
-in other way it can turn on with either power adapter only or battery only
But sometimes all this issue goes away with no clear reason.
Does it indicates faulty board chipset?

In the way measuring the charging ic, i notice that mosfet PQ302 was hot when i plugged in the charger. I try to replace that mosfet and now its charging normaly even when laptop ON position.

Hi i've been troubleshooting laptop that only charge/recognized dc in when it in OFF position.
When i plugged in charger in ON position it won't recognized/charging at all
So when i need to charge the laptop i need to turn it off>plugged charger>and turn it on again. That way the laptop is charging/detect dc in
I have an schematic of the board. But i'am not expert at diagnosing board level like this
So what i need to check in this kind of problem? Is it resistors? Or mosfet charging?

Hi all i've been repairing discrete gpu on laptop lenovo g40 45
The memory vram fail. And i decided to replace it
The original memory is skHynix and i only have micron to replace
But i'am struggling with memory strap
I have an schematic but its unclear where the exact location to instal 10k resistors
I also have the boardview but it's pdf version (not .brd or something like that)
So basically it only show image and pad name no detail information
Is there posible way to find where this strap location?

Yup it's not long time. But i feel its not supossed to be like that tough. I also having this same problem in asus x200ma in the past. And i solve it after i flash with clean ME bios.
Don't know why but i always had this problem only in asus laptop.
Gona upload the bios dump ASAP

Yes i found PQ901 is shorted. But surprisingly the APU still alive and it boot after replacing thoose mosfet

Hi all
Been troubleshooting motherboard asrock b250 gaming k4
Sometimes it post and then random shutdown/freeze and never post again (bootlooping) i need to rest it several ours to make it post again.
I check the memory voltage when it post. its arround 1,1V sometimes 1.0V
So i've been wondering. Did ddr4 always require exactly 1,2V to run stable?
