Squeezebox Classic V3 Power
I found a old squeezebox v3 at the thrift store that seems to have a power issue. I had an extra 5v power supply to test it with, but after I got it setup it would reboot as soon as it tried to play music. It finally died and now does not power on. Anyone fix one of these? I'm leaning toward a bad mosfet.... -

Search google for parts or ebay. You'll want to get your part numbers off the boards in your set to make sure you get the right part numbers as they sometimes are different even within the same model.

Hitachi 55" Plasma Grey Screen
I'm looking buying at a 55in hitachi plasma that has an issue where the color turns grey. The tv has to be reset then the color is back. Is this the panel or a possible component failure. -

Confirmed it was a bad video board, or A board. Picked one up at a good price. Now have a great 50" plasma. After this success I picked up another model that is the TH-50PZ80U that had the two blink code. Has a bad D board and A board. So two blink code was D board, and no blink code with dim light was A board.Leave a comment:

Ok, validating all voltages in/out of A board. Interesting to see when I disconnected the signal cable from the A to D board I get a bright dispaly vs the dim.Leave a comment:

Panasonic TH-50PZ800U No Picture/Sound No Blinking Power
Just picked up a non-working Panasonic 50" plasma.
Symptom - Powers on by pushing power button on TV only. Power light turns red and stays solid, no blinking, screen lights up. No picture.
I've confirmed voltages to the board and confirmed the V type voltages are all in range. Confirmed solid green lights on both the SC and SS boards. From the TS guide the next board is the D logic board.
I've looked up the board and there are several that could be installed. Can I use different version? The board that is in the set is the TNPA4439BJ. The BJ... -

Update - after confirming voltages, decided to swap out inverter. The inverter looks like some children soldered it together. I could confirm 24v going to the transformers but it seems like the startup would fail when trying to start the backlights. New inverter works, backlights working.Leave a comment:

I have a Sharp Aquos that has a blinking power light only. Based on the service manual it says it has a bad panel? Can I take this at face value or could it be another issue? I've checked voltages to the inverter and main board. They check good to what is on the power board. I've unplugged the tcon board to see if I can just get the backlights, but nothing. -

Bit the bullet and replaced the main board. Found one pretty cheap, so I sunk the $65 bucks for a used board. Popped it in and fixed it. Updated firmware to latest version and now have a great 1080p 40" Samsung for under $200. Next victim is the Sharp Aquos. Thanks guys....Leave a comment:

Not sure if I can call it a fix, but the screen is working perfect again. I took the metal housing off the panel and found the left hand side was flopping away from the metal bracket. Seems like the glass screen is glued to the metal and this left side has come off. Also traced the poor connection to the left most ribbon cable running from the top of the panel to the screen. I added a couple pieces of a firm but squishy foam to the inside of the outer metal bracket and that has created sufficient pressure to hold both the screen and...Leave a comment:

This years best dumpster find for me was a 47" Westinghouse 1080P LCD TV - On curb for trash, boxed up like the day it came from the store. First time I powered it up, only had the amber light and would not boot. Thought I might have to start to troubleshoot but found a forum that recommended updating to a custom firmware. I gave it a try, and its been sitting in my living room ever since, no problems at all. Easiest fix ever.Leave a comment:

Ok, I need some help with tracing the circuit. The manual has a schematic, but I think its a little different from the board I have. I can not seem to find a couple of the LDO's to confirm voltages. I've attached a couple pics of the four I recognize. Here are two that are suspect to me.
