Sorry for delay in replying, had to be offline for a few days.
PU4 and PC191 were shorted. They have now been replaced and are working ok
I have monitored the MB under a thermal cam and it looks like the EC is gone
Is it replaceable? Does it need to be programmed?...

Getting 0 on everything besides for VIN which is the correct 3.3.
Not sure where the issue lies though as it's also not displaying to an external display.
Also, even when on for a while, the GPU is stone cold.

External screen also not working via HDMI.
No voltage on +3v_lcd.
Next step is to reprogram BIOS?

BIOS Programming - Which programmer to use??

Hi all,
I have done quite a lot of research into which programmer to use and despite me thinking that there should be quite a lot of documentation on this subject there is relatively little.
I am looking for a programmer for laptop EC chips (SMD and BGA).
I do have some knowledge in programming as I have used the CH341a for BIOS chips.
I am looking into the RT809H or F.
Despite there being a list of which chips the RT809 supports, it seems that there are videos of people using it for chips not on that list.
I guess I would like a programmer that can program...

I am using the CH341A programmer and using Asprogrammer 2.1.0.13.
I tried again to plug in the chip and this time the program was able to identify the chip and read from it. I have attached it below.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
As I said above, there is an 8MB chip and a 16MB chip. I have attached what I extracted off the 8MB chip and all seems to be fine. However, the 16MB chip is not detedcted with my reader and when I manually select it and read the contents, all I get are FFFFFFFFF's as if the chip is empty.
Please advise on how you would proceed.

Thank you SMDFlea for a prompt response!
How would I go about, either correcting the corrupted BIOS or reflashing the BIOS?
I have tried using numerous methods to get a bin file which makes sense size wise, out of the exe but with no luck, probably because, as you say, this is an update and not a clean install.
Also, would the fact that it is booting to the Dell logo hint to the corruption being in either the first chip or the second one?

Dell Inspiron 15 3511 Bios Needed

Hi all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3511 (Service tag: FY3C9T3) which is not booting past the Dell logo and I cannot enter the BIOS by pressing F2.
I therefore believe that the BIOS is corrupted.
I have spent some time trying to figure it all out as I have managed to reprogram BIOS's in the past.
The motherboard has two chips, one is a 25Q64JVSIQ and the other is a 25Q128JVSQ.
Firstly, how do I know which one is the BIOS, or are they both BIOS (have only worked on single BIOS boards).
Secondly, I cannot seem to get a bin file or the like from the BIOS exe...
