Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
So, i bought a thermal camera (i had finely a good excuse) and connected a wire to ACN and ACP.
With presets of 1V and 3A the board draws 0.8A and on both sides i did not see anything heating up. Whats next?

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
so I watched the video. Interesting guy and I will learn a lot more from him in the future. However, he explicitly says: don't inject if you have more than 1 ohm resistance. because most likely there is no short or something else.
What is your take on this since I have 3.5 ohms?Last edited by revex666; 09-06-2023, 04:00 PM.

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
i have this power supply: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005147346823.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.71.344043357HkbJC&algo_pvid=4cf1fba8-08fd-4c95-889e-7ef5eae7ff24&algo_exp_id=4cf1fba8-08fd-4c95-889e-7ef5eae7ff24-35&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21EUR%2199.23%2168.47%21%21%21760.39%21%21%4021038ede16940227021615496e527f%2112000031855429965%21sea%21NL%211851956855%21&curPageLogUid=WMJckJ2jHoLp
I bought it for another project (anodizing steel), but i presume this will work. i never did this before so I will...

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
So MOSFET is of again and low reading are still present om pq20.
Pq19 when installed
drain source = 3.057mohm
Source gate = 3.888mohm
Gate drain = 5.87mohm
These readings seemed better so I replaced pq20 again with an other MOSFET and the power is back on the mainline.
So now the original problem remains

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
I replaced PQ20 still the same problems in regards to Voltage. PQ19 was still getting hot so just to be sure i also replaced that one. here are the new measurements in diode mode tested
PQ19:
source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8) = OL
source (1-2-3) & gate (4) = 5.7 OHM
gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8) = OL
drain to ground = 3.5 ohm
PQ20:
source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8) = 0.3ohm
source (1-2-3) & gate (4) = 1 ohm
gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8) = 1.2 ohm
...

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
what are the general rules in regards to replacing MOSFETS? Exactly the same specs (i presume yes)? Or are slight deviations also okay?
For now, i have an AON6372 with almost the same specs (Original MDU1512), is that oke or better order an identical?

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
i removed the MOSFET:
Measured resistance in DIODE mode
PQ19:
source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8) = OL
source (1-2-3) & gate (4) = OL
gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8) = OL
drain to ground = 3.4ohm
PQ20:
source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8) = 0.3 ohm
source (1-2-3) & gate (4) = 4 ohm
gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8) = 4.2 ohm
PQ20 drain pads to ground OL in diodemode

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
thanks again for your response. I measured on anode site 0.2 to 1.6V, it is jumping around. on cathode stable ~1.5V

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
i made a stupid mistake PD16 = 0.605V and OL and PD17 = 0.610V and OL

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
thanks for your help/response. Attached is a picture of how i measured on PD16 and 17. in both directions and on both diodes there meter gives OL. When switching meter to resistance and measuring to ground the reading starts around 1.3Mohm and is increasing...

Re: BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed
thanks for the quick reply:
PQ19 = drain to ground 2,8
PQ20 = OL
PQ25 = i can not find since i dont have a boardview. However i suspect it is the one in the attached picture and that one is 2,7 for drain to ground...

BTO/CLEVO P950ER repair help needed :)
Goodday,
I have a BTO/CLEVO P950ER. The laptop is not powering on and no lights are burning when the adapter is plugged in.
Since I'm new to motherboard repairs (I did a few basic MOSFET replacements and capacitors that were obviously broken) Fault finding and identifying which components might be broken is quite difficult jet. I took the motherboard out of the laptop and started measuring this is what I found so far:
- Power in = 19V
- No voltage to battery pins
- ACDRV no voltage
- REGN no voltage
- ACN and ACP shorted to ground
- PC62...

Re: HP Spectre 13-af030nd repair help
thanks a lot for your help! the laptop is repaired and everything is working as it should! how did you recognise these MOSFETS are for switching the USB-C Ports to the charging controller?

Re: HP Spectre 13-af030nd repair help
Thanks sephire for your time and help. I will continue my search for some schematics and have a thorough look If I can find another pair of MOSFETs for the other USB ports.
If someone in the mean time finds anything please let me know. If I find it I will post it here and keep you guys updated.
For future reference attached the picture of the Mobo....

HP Spectre - 13-af030nd/DBP32 LA-F013P Rev:1.0 2017-08-15 board view request
Good day Boys and Girls,
I have a broken Spectre and I need some advice. After opening up the laptop it turned out some chip was exploded/damaged and I see some melted plastic near the connector of the speaker.
Can someone please provide me with some information about what chip it is, and if more is missing on the left part? I can't find any board view files online and I would love to repair it
Specifications:
Type: HP Spectre - 13-af030nd
Motherboard: DBP32 LA-F013P Rev:1.0 2017-08-15
I hope someone can assist me....
