Re: Procedural question about BGA rework and removal of CPUs
Hi, I have this machine and I am in the same predicament as you were. Please can you share where to get decent information how to use this thing HT-R490. I have searched everywhere and cannot seem to find information how to adjust and change profile. I am having difficulties how to adjust the profile when running one and how to make adjustment on the go or as required when running a profile. Please advise thank you....

Re: New Software Achi LY by PSOFT
Information on forums seems to indicate the IR6500 is not cut out to do Ps3 because the bottom heater is not powerful enough. Most of them seem to recommend minimum 2000W heater at the bottom and the upper minimum 400W. I have a jovy-7500 it really struggled with old backwards Compatible PS3. On the other hand others reported success with it on forums. This is why I bought the Achi ir pro sc, which is in my view better than the Jovy-7500 in terms of doing big boards.
What I am about to describe re BGA rework machine...

Re: Altec PC410 (BGA Rework) to communicate with PC
Thank you Clearchris and Per Hansson, I appreciate your knowledge and time. I did not mention in my first post that I had tried so many times to connect with the ch340 converters and it did not work with it. For it to work with my current method, I wired it as per the diagram in the picture attached of the “female rs232 port”. That is the only way I got it to work and any other way it does not work which is weird. Could it be wired as Rs485?
The original schematic of the achi ir pro sc V1, the pin top...

Re: Altec PC410 (BGA Rework) to communicate with PC
For those who have been having difficulties to get their Achi ir pro sc to connect with a laptop or pc via the psoft software. It may work for you too but you can only try to know if it will work. Please note I am not a pro and there is no logical process in this. I have seen others reported here no connect and myself after trying for days to connect this to my laptops via the laptops usb 2 or usb 3 ports on my two laptops, it refused to connect. When it failed to connect, I bought several usb to rs232 serial converters...
