  • Re: industrial sewing machine mainboard/powerboard issue

following badcaps members advice, i have managed to get my machine back online!

thank you so very much for all your help.

to try to help out others, ill let you know the exact steps taken for the fix.

    1. carefully remove all soiled boards, connection and components
    2. drench with ecological multi cleaner/degreaser, making sure to hit the board from every angle possible, i went in at 45degrees from left to right, right to left, up to down, down to up.
    3. in your shower/bathroom...

    hello again

proving hard to track down mean green branded degreaser, could you tell me what properties i should look for in the degreaser to find a good alternative?

is all out enginge/tool cleaner ok?
    bicycle degreaser?
or a kitchen/oven type? (i imagine the oven type is not suitable due to caustic additives)

    thanks again!

thank you so much for the posts!

PCBONEZ - thanks so much for the detailed post. i had tried to clean it by dabbing and a good hose down with electro-contact-cleaner but i imagine the solvent has just shifted the oil residue elsewhere on the board as it is stil unresponsive.

the top control panel lights up as it should, but when the presser foot is depressed there is no action.

i will get a hold of some of the cleaners you reccomended (might be a little tricky in seoul, south korea!)...

  • industrial sewing machine mainboard/powerboard issue

this is probably a first here... i know alot of you guys(and gals) are knowledgeable about pc and display systems, but what about industrial sewing machine control/mainboards?

i make clothes for a living (all be it not a very well payed living at the moment!) - and use a 'computer controlled' industrial sewing machine to do so.

the machine is a brother db2-b737 with a c-10 control unit.

for those who don't know too much about how this type of machine works, basicly the machine 'head' is purely mechanical, and works the same as any other sewing...

  • Re: Samsung Syncmaster 225BW

    EDIT:

was slightly worried the caps i bought were standard (not low-esr) as i didnt recieve paperwork with them

just took apart the monitor again to check model numbers

samyoung LXZ, KXL and KMG (listed by samyoung as low-esr, long life caps). - just incase anyone else is thinking of using samyoung caps.

i'll let you guys know if any problems arrise, but so far, its looking A.O.K.

    ^^

    it is indeed.

korea is a place where 'korean is best' (and chinese is worst)... i had no trouble atall tracking down caps from samwha or samyoung, but these are some of the ones causing trouble in the monitors so i was reluctant to purchase them!

anyway, today i went out to the component markets and had a bit of a unlucky/lucky adventure, depending on which way you look at it.....

i searched and searched for japanese caps or rubycon's and couldnt find any, this is literally after visiting 20 stores...

  • Re: Samsung Syncmaster 225BW

    great forum, thread and info!

im having the same issues with a blinking (and now non-working) samsung syncmaster cx 223 bw...

have identified blown crapcon caps at:

    c304 (330uf 25v 12mm x 10mm)
    c305 (330uf 25v 12mm x 10mm)
    c110 (820uf 25v 20mm x 10mm)
    c111 (820uf 25v 20mm x 10mm)
    c112 (330uf 25v 12mm x 10mm)

there is also 2 other crapcoms (look unblown and don't seem to normally cause the issue as far as i understand) at:

    c105 (150uf 450v 42mm x 20mm)
    c107...
