Re: Viewsonic vx2255wmb inverter help
Hello,
I recently had the OSD that appeared randomly. I opened the display to see if a button was mechanically pressed. I saw nothing, closed everything, and had the 'Two seconds to black' symptom (dammit !). So I read this topic, changed the caps, checked the inverter impedance.... and it still not worked. I ashamed to admit what happened : on the first opening, I disconnected a little extension cable to the light tubes (it appeared connected but was slightly out). Just in case someone has the same issue...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
Thank you for your replies ! I ordered a new transformer and I'm waiting for it. I'll let you know when there is something new.
Thank you also for the wrong resistance explanation.
Dear Panther, I'm pretty sure that - when quoting you're "it may be the transformer" message - Plainbill didn't want to correct you but he wanted to warn me not to misread what you actually said (it may be). As I'm a newbie, I could have rejoiced too fast. So it wasn't a correction about what you wrote but a delicate attention...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
Hello, I'm back with the measures
According to the circles made by Plainbill, I name from "a" at the top left, to "d" at the top right pin. I'm sorry, I can't tell colours apart (I'm partly colour blind). I guess yellows on the left (Rab), and orange on the right (Rcd).
Rab = 3.197k Ohm
Rbc = 221,2k Ohm (parallel to the also noted "R31" on the board)
Rcd = 1.136k Ohm
I could also unsold the transformer if needed.
Obviously, values don't match...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
Thanks to both of you for your quick replies. It makes me eager to try / measure ! (unfortunately I work in a city I don't come from. I'll check as soon as possible : next week end).
The link to ebay doesn't work due to country legal restrictions. I guess you meant this : http://cgi.ebay.fr/TMS92515CT-Inverter-Transformer-for-SAMSUNG-LCD-/150488873963?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2309d5fbeb
As I was doing some research about this transformer, I saw it is quite "famous", so it may confirm...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
Dear all,
I did a complete recap (except main 450V cap) and the symptoms remains the same.
As before, the backlight functions one second and then shuts down. It never switch on again (unless I push on / off button). So there is no retry after a timer.
Have you got any idea of what it could be ?
Thanks,
renArD
PS : Let me just correct something I said : there are no 30V bursts on the 15V line, it is my voltmeter failure (curious).

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
If it can help anyone :
- I upload two photos of the version I have
- This version of the board (PWI1904SJ A Rev 1.0) seems to be also used in the Samsung Syncmaster 940NW.
- Here is the list of the original caps :
* "100uF 450V" for C101
* 3x "470uF 25V 105°C brand JH" for C31, C202, C201
* "1000uF 16V 105°C brand JH" for C205
* 2x "330uF 25V 105°C brand JH" for C203, C206
* "1uF 50V 105°C brand JH" for C204
Regards...

Dear PlainBill, I'm really impressed by all your technical advices. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge !
I'm looking forward to have some news from Glennjamin with the idea of changing the DM0465R.
In the meantime, I dare to share my similar problem. I'm not sure of the case I facing to (according to the following citation from PlainBill)....
