I have a friend i sold a dell gx270 too, it's manufacturing date is i think 2002 model, the motherboard in it as well as those stated in this forum have several bad caps on it.
The problem it caused for this dell was it would get an error at bootup stating there is a thermal shutdown or something in the area.
I just had her order a new board which as i write this i'm in the process of getting ready to install for her. i know it may do the same thing as the old.
