Re: What's *your* latest mess-up?
I was repairing an amstrad drx280 sky plus box one day, the engineer had written no power. Ok I said no problem, changed the caps as they were poor quality anyway, changed the IC and the fuse. There I thought one brand new power supply! Plugged it in and BANG! Hmmm I pondered wonder why the chip and the fuse blew up again!
2 days later had another look, stupid me forgot to change the bridge rectifier diodes! Duh!

Does anyone know if the last 4 digits on the chip are important? On the chip I want to replace the digits are VF08 but I can't seem to source those anywhere! but I am finding lots of others with the different last four digits!
I'm confused!
Does anyone know if there is an alternative?
Any help is greatly appreciated
