Re: Samsung UE58J5200 LED fail repeatedly
For those who might be interested.
The LED strips on this set have connectors for left and right linking. Hard wired them and the edge connectors and that cured the failing.

Re: Samsung UE58J5200 LED fail repeatedly
Thanks Andrew.
The PSU was a reclaimed one. I'm thinking it may have had the same fault as the original.

Samsung UE58J5200 LED fail repeatedly
Hi folks
Has anyone had this before? UE58J5200 no backlights. When stripped to the leds I observed that a number of the leds had blown, ie burnt.
The customer said it crackled when it went off.
Ok so when I saw the damage I thought as a matter of caution to replace the PSU too. When the strips arrived I checked each and every one and they were all good...Changed all the led strips and PSU...It arced immediately and promptly took the leds out! I've cut my losses and the TV is scrap, but I'm just wondering if anyone may have any ideas as to the cause?...

Re: 17pw26-4 psu
Good luck Tom
I noted that on the diagram it showed two 2k2's feeding the cathode but the board I've got just had the one 0 ohm at R1036.

Re: 17pw26-4 psu
Tom, I found the schematic you directed me to. Thanks for that. The diagram doesn't seem to agree with the psu I'm working on. The search continues.
Thanks again

Re: LT26MC1A with a 715T2907-2 psu
I need to get this one back on the bench. I'm pretty sure I checked all diodes but it's worth another look.
Thanks TomLast edited by hifiguy; 09-15-2011, 11:14 AM.

LT26MC1A with a 715T2907-2 psu
Any help would be appreciated on a BUsh LT26MC1A with a 715T2907-2 psu.
The set responds to remote or manual switch on IE The standby light switches from red to blue and that's it, no backlight no sound. I have to switch off at mains to get back to standby.
Upon inspection I found the 12v reg IC had failed. After extensive searching I obtained and fitted a new one which has got the 12v back up but the set behaves the same. I'm thinking eeprom corruption. Any thoughts?
Cheers
Geoff

Re: 17pw26-4 psu
Hi Tom
Some progress but no real advance (hmmm) Having changed caps and reg I've found D893 s/c. Changed it but the fault remains. I'm searching for service info for the whole set but that's not proving easy.
Cheers

Re: 17pw26-4 psu
Hey Plainbill,
Thanks for a speedy response.
The standby light simply flashes with no pattern (I know what you mean about fault codes). So far I haven't found a schematic but I'm hopeful. This type (vestel) psu's are prone to failure as I'm sure you know and usually caps are to blame although I have known one or two exceptions and I'm guessing this one.
Thanks again. I'll check at Elektrotanya.com.

17pw26-4 psu
Hi
I have a Bush TV in for repair with the standby light flashing rapidly. I've fitted the repair kit ie. C878, 801, 892, 817 and IC829 but the fault is the same.
Anyone had this? Or any tips?
Help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Geoff
