Re: X1 Carbon Gen3 5 beeps
Resistance in all coil is 0.5 ohm.
RAM is non removeable sadly, its soldered on, and epoxied in place
All previous tests were performed without a battery.
Do you suspect RAM failure?

X1 Carbon Gen3 5 beeps
Hi,
I have received an X1 carbon gen 3 (board 13268-1) which is supposedly having a bad MB. Unfortunately the previous owner did not say what "bad motherboard" means.
First symptoms : upon plugging in power, the power button lights up in green, but nothing happens. My first guess was that a corrupted bios could cause this.
Wannabe solution 1 : I reflashed the bios with a known good one.
Now there is an update with the symptoms : When I plug it in the fan spins for around 5 seconds, and then it just throws a common fault message of 5...

Re: Nasty underfill
Has anyone managed to do it?
Also I've read that you could just "mill it down", could that work?

Nasty underfill
Hey there,
I am currently working on a hobby project of mine where I try to replace a set of soldered on rams to 16GB just for the heck of it, but I've encountered a problem in the form of a nasty underfill.
Look at the images
What do you suggest?
I've tried to scrape it off with a Qian Li 007, and even to move under a hot air station, but no luck....

Re: Lenovo L450 no display
Have you checked the fuses?
Or do you see any visible damage on the mb?

X1 Carbon Gen3 (20BT, 20BS) not turning on or no screen
Hi, so I have the bestest of the best as the X1 Carbon 3rd gen (it should be 13268-1 from Wistron) and I have a few weird things on it and would be helpful if you could give a second opinion on it.
First, for more than half a year now, the screen is (was) inhibiting the serial fault of having contact, so I'd have to apply pressure to the inverter to work.
About 2 weeks ago I've spilled a little tea over the keyboard, then I turned it off, and did not do anything with it for a week. After that week I needed something that had webcam, but the keyboard was not accepting...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey all,
I'm a Biological Sciences student from Hungary, 22, however I had lots of interest in repairing anything. I've started with DSLR's and lenses (now counting almost 6 years), and now continued for PC and laptop parts, strictly as a hobby.
I was inspired a lot by Louis Rossmann, our hero for right to repair.
Cheers
