Re: What is this electronic component?
Caliper? sounds high tech. I don't really have a caliper but i think i can measure it in mm with an ordinary ruler. It is 8x5 mm.

Re: What is this electronic component?
Ok very nice. Now does anyone know how to read the codes on the capacitor that tell you what the ratings are? I might think about replacing them

Re: What is this electronic component?
Well, it is pretty convincing I mean. The "P" only show up near the battery area and the ac adapter socket area.

Other than "p" stands for power, I have no other clue what it might stand for lol.

Re: What is this electronic component?
The board is from a laptop that gets power from an ac adapter which may explain why those resistors aren't very big? lol Am not a genius at electronics.

Re: What is this electronic component?
uhm interesting.
Now, Am wondering if a bad capacitor could be causing the power to continuously recycle -causing a strange humming sound. It is a very low humming sound however.
thank you for your help thus far.
