Ok, thanks for the ideas. I’ll give it a try tomorrow and see how I make out. The stuff on the top has come off, but not the bottom stuff.

Ok, how would I do that? I have a hot air gun. Would I just put flux on the contact points, and heat it up?

I was going to try that, but like I said, I’m new to soldering. I have a great soldering gun, and all the other stuff that is needed. From the picture, it looks like I’m getting to the bare bones, but I just can’t get that last little bit.Re: Desoldering help

Desoldering help
Hi. I'm new to soldering. I'm trying to remove a part from a board, so I can replace it with a new one, but I am having trouble trying to remove the old one. I have tried using flux with a de soldering braid, but it doesn't seem to want to remove all of it.
Any suggestions?...
