Thank you very much for the previous help – I’ve finally fixed that issue. But now the motherboard wants to challenge me again.
I’ve discovered a short on the USB PD controller (TPS65987). I replaced it with a new one, and now the board powers on – but still doesn’t POST.
I’m wondering: Do I need to program anything, like SPI flash memory or configuration files for the TPS65987?
There are three SPI flash chips on the bottom of the board:- One is clearly for the BIOS.
- The other two are possibly for the EC (embedded controller) and the PD controller?

GALE 4G WHL MB-18709-2 unkown IC gets hot
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my motherboard (GALE 4G WHL MB-18709-2, model 15-cn1103ng). The problem is that one IC near the battery connector gets hot, causing the system to enter a boot loop — it powers on briefly with the fan spinning, then shuts down again after about a second.
IC shows:
7J=5J
T3J
I've attached a picture of the IC in question. If anyone can identify this component or has seen a similar issue, I'd really appreciate your help!
