Re: Viewsonic VG2230wm CCFL to LED conversion
So, these monitors are being used as tertiary monitors to display some DAW software. I was planning on making the switch to LED because one of the CCFLs on one of the monitors is visibly failing - though should still be functional for some time - and I wanted to make the switch myself so I would know the CCFL was disposed of properly and not in the trash if I were to give them to someone with them subsequently breaking.
However, you do bring up something I was wondering: many of the after photos for the upgrade do show...

Re: Viewsonic VG2230wm CCFL to LED conversion
Oh, this is the description from the Ebay listing of the LED driver:
If your monitor is a high-voltage integrated power supply board, then: the board energized, find 12V (capacitance), and then unplug the power supply,
use a multimeter to find and 12V (capacitance) Disconnect original connecting
the negative terminal, the board received three line: 12V, ON, GND, the 12v of the inverter connect with 12v positive
electrode of hign-voltage intergrated power supply board,GND is connected with the negative electrode,...

Viewsonic VG2230wm CCFL to LED conversion
Hi Badcaps,
You helped me replace some bad caps a few years ago and I'm hoping you can help me turn the CCFLs in those monitors into LEDs. I've attached pictures of the PS from my monitors and of the LED driver boards.
I've also included the threads I was looking at to accomplish this on my own but I'm daunted by the task. Unfortunately, those threads peter out before the conversion is replaced. If I can get some help here, I'll be glad to post complete finished conversion pics.
I'm not really looking to remove as much stuff for a "clean" install...Last edited by wolrab; 10-15-2021, 12:57 AM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey BadCaps,
The info here helped my recap my DAC-19m009 a few years back and I was guided here by the Googs as I'm trying to convert the some CCFLs to LEDs on the same board.
