I am a tinkerer (when I have the time). I work for a small 501c3 where we provide digital navigators services and instructional classes for seniors and the needy. I refurbish laptops and some desktops. Image them with Kubuntu latest long term support version using fog. I occasioned across this site some time back when we received donations of some Yoga X1's (1st gen) that had the boot locked out. I unsuccessfully attempted (butchered it) to re-flash the bios chip. Anyhow, I stop in here on occasion to check on unlocking donated products and such.
Best Regards To All.

XPS l321x admin password set
Hi,
I have the above mentioned it has a 25X40BVSIG 1151. Will reflashing this chip clear the admin password? if the password is not stored in that chip, what might I be looking for and would I need a file kindly provided by my fellow Bad Cappers? Yeah I'm a noob, trying to save old computers from the landfill.
Tia,

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Hi,
I'm new here and just getting my feet wet. I noticed that the instructions imply that the eprom be soldered to the MB. Is this absolutely necessary? I had a locked mb but I unfortunately broke a lead off of the chip removing it. No problem, I just desoldered the epprom from another MB from exactly the same model the as my locked patient a Yoga X1 1st gen. However, this unit had issues that CN easily be resolve and it was not locked. I de-soldered the chip (successfully) and was able to get a verified bin file...
