thanks for the input pcbonez. I think I should learn more about power management of USB and stuff. Actually I thought about installing jumper wires....
Is it possible to provide +5v to the faulty USB port and fix it?
I mean USB data pins are working So If we can provide external +5v It should work (I guess so)
I have spoiled many with hot air guns. So I switched to a hot air rework station and bought a great collection of NOZZLES. Without proper nozzles It would be difficult.
This is the same as my hot air rework station, same design with different name.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HDDXY0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=techbookforal-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B000HDDXY0
I have no knowledge in troubleshooting using scopes. But I think its worth to invest few extra bucks for a good scope.I hope to use oscilloscope mainly for repairing motherboards and computers and for building audio amps and small Micro controller projects.
My budget is 0$-400$.
Lately Rigol scopes play a huge roll in the scene. I'm not sure about the quality of the brand. But some says rigol make scopes for agilent.
but who knows????

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Ok guys let me introduce myself.
I'm a 25 years old (born in 85) kid/guy/man who love to mezz around electronic and computer stuff. I have been learning, repairing, manufacturing and designing electronic items for about 10 years by now.
I was graduated with first class upper in computer systems and networking. I do work as a Computer networking engineer. But I love to earn from electronics. Simply because I love electronics and I run my own computer and electronic repair service and computer networking...
I use lots of low-end equipments and I find them quiet useful for sometimes. For your question the best answer I can give is to buy a cheap 50$ hot air station. KADA is a good low-end brand.
de soldering using soldering iron is a risky thing. too much heat and too much force can easily erase traces on the pcb.
