I narrowed it down to the main board, after being plugged in it felt extent hot above the main ic with heat sink. Once I removed the board on the underside of it there were scorch marks. Picture attached. I'll see what I can do but have a guy falling that I'm gonna have to buy a main board for this....

I recently fixed our Samsung black screen of death by watching YouTube videos and reading through previous threads. Removed a few ceramic capacitors and fixed a short on the back side of the tcon board. So my father and law asked me if I could try to fix his visio. He said that it wouldn't power on. When he first brought it to me I plugged it in and there was a standby light. When I hit the power button the TV booted up and everything worked. I started out on the software side of things, which I still like to do. About 5 years ago I worked at a cellphone carrier as a retail sales rep. We performed minor repairs, older phones that you could just unscrew to open. Swap microphones and such. A couple years later I replaced broken screens and such as a hobby/way to make a few bucks.
