Waking up an old thread here.. I had a repeat failure of the 1N5383. Looking at the [URL="https://www.power.com/sites/default/files/product-docs/tny263_268.pdf"]datasheet[/URL] for the TN264, the reference design is an RCD snubber. The zener lowers the part count and quiescent current, so perhaps that's why it was favored from a design perspective. The Delta board even has solder pads for the passive filter! I used the following:

R7917 and R7918: 200kOhm 1/8 watt
