This applies to S2209Wb, S2209Wa, and S2209 monitors.

Over the last 12 months I have repaired two S2209Wb monitors (and two computer power supplies) by replacing the secondary-side capacitors. Both monitors failed, about 8 months apart, with the symptoms described here (failure to turn on, blinking white light in the "Power" button for several minutes before finally turning on).

I first learned electronics on radios that glowed in the dark, and started repairing electronic stuff as a (paid) tech in 1967. Over the last decade or so I have resurrected a handful of computer power supplies, and a few other items, by replacing failed or marginal 'lytic caps. I have known about this site for quite a while, and finally got around to formally registering and joining.
