Yes you are right it is a mistake. My goal is to remove the bios password. I'm wondering if by reading the EC, then writing a "blank" .bin file on it and then writing back the dump of the original EC, it would remove the password, as it seems to be suggested in the thread [URL="https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=103526"]BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools[/URL]

I'm trying to find informations to unlock a thinkpad x390 yoga, which has a NUVOTON NPCE388PB0BX embedded controller. I found a detailed shematic ([URL="https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=96612"]here[/URL]) but I'm lost with all these informations. p.24 shows the EC/KBC and p.25 shows the SPI flash BIOS. What kind of programmer do I need? What is the easyest solution if the auto-patcher doesn't work on 9th generation?

I found a complete detailed shematics of the laptop.
I also post the Lenovo maintenance utility (bootable) file.
I notice that in an other thread some people managed to unlock a lenovo thinkpad t490, which is also a 9th generation lenovo laptop (although it has an MEC1663 EC and not an NPCE388 like the x390 yoga) , see [url]https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1048073[/url]

I spent some time trying to find a solution to unblock a lenovo thinkpad x390 Yoga, which probably has, according to a diagram I found online, a NPCE388 Embedded Controller.
