I just got my fuses today and a new 100uf 400v cap and i replaced the thermistor that had blown.
Now my new problem is that everytime i give power to the pcb the main fuse blows? I give up the damn thing
While im waiting on parts for my other project i thought id go back to this one .
I changed all the caps a while a go but was still not getting it to go into standby it was just ticking on and off.
So i changed the 1n5822 diode which fixed that problem
But now its working for 5 to 10 mins and then going black from the top of the screen down and the only way to get it to reset is to unplug it and it works again.
Has enyone got any ideas of whats causing this
Re: How to find out the rating of my blown thermister
would it be possible to use a
NTC 5D-09 instead of a NTC 5D-11
sck-....................... , SCK-054
5Ω - cold ( 25°C )......, 5Ω - cold ( 25°C )
3A - continuous current. 4A -continuous current
210mΩ - at max current.180mΩ - at max current
Hi folks i've got a blown thermister but all it says is NTC 201 on the board and 054 on the green thermister.
Its from a mirage PI-190DTLB inverter power board from my zerox 22" lcd monitor which im currently fixing.
I deffinatly used the right fuse im thinking that the thermistor got damaged when it blew the first time around.
Im having a look through my bits and i need a 33uf 275v primary switching transistor but as of yet im only finding 22uf's and 47uf's but theres time yet.
Im wondering if the primary switching transistor is causing the tick, tick, tick sound?
Just done some reserch and the NTC201 054 that i blew is a Thermistor im still quite new to this game.
Now im just wondering where to go from here, what to replace it with and/or where to get a replacement from.
How also can i tell what rating i need and how to check them as the only writing on the blown one is NTC 054.
Cheers guys in advance
Does anyone know of a good supplyer in the uk of these fuses T3.15A/250VAC.
On my board it is a little red box.
Im also im going to change the c201 cap (400v 100uf) as that was what i was testing when i got the blow out.
Yes they do Rtech they were one of the first things i changed .
Im not too bad with caps its just everything else
I've got another monitor that ive changed every cap in but its still having trouble to kick in, (but thats another thread )...
Thanks for the help so far peeps
I've just tested the voltage on the pins and this is what i get,
on the +14v pins im getting a bouncing reading from 0 to 1.5v
on the +5v pins im getting a bouncing reading from 2 to 3.5v.
I think i've just fubar i got a spark while i was testing the c201 cap (400v 100uf) and now it smells of sulphur and im not getting any reading at all
I've just blown the F201 fuse T3.15A/250VAC.
I've changed the start up cap and its still ticking? and the dc voltage from the pins on the connector on the right hand side of the power board is still fluctuating.
2 of the pins are 14+v and 2 are 5+v.
I have'nt changed the start up cap yet but i set it up on my desk and plug'd it into the mains and you can here a tick, tick, tick sound coming from the board.
Also when i checked the dv voltage from the pins on the connector on the right hand side of the power board the voltage fluctuated.
Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi there everyone im new to the forum and could really do with some advise.
Im not getting any power what so ever to the monitor,
So far ive changed these caps :
Green - 470uf 25v
Red - 680uf 25v
purple - 220uf 25v
brown - 10uf 50v
and still nothing im wondering if the 100uf 400v cap might need changing.
Heres a pic of the unit.
