Re: Toshiba Satellite P55-A5104SL - corrupted BIOS
Thank you.
With this dump, Power on -> fan spins, internal display dead (no BL no image), external HDMI goes from "no signal" to a black screen. Does not boot.
Reset button doesn't help. RAM is confirmed good, same with CMOS battery....

Re: Dell 7110 No display
Ram 1.8V -> is this a typo? Board is DDR3, should be 1.5V

Re: Customer Database Software
Not that I know. I was just hoping the program captions appeared in English on your system. There's nothing on the website about multi-language support... perhaps you may ask the author directly.

Re: Trying to figure out 2 problems with IBM G74 Black Monitor and G40 Monitor
If you have HV and degauss on the G74 but no image, check for CRT heater voltage (and associated circuitry). Should be close to 6.3 VAC.
edit. hhmm, if there's no static when turning on, then HV is not present. You need to check that 1st.Last edited by sndestroy; 05-09-2021, 05:09 PM.

Re: help to identify a faulty component plz
Does the machine turn on?
Most likely a TVS diode like others said, nothing critical. Leave it as-is, or put a suitable replacement for inner peace. BTW mainboard is DA0XW1MBAI0 for which sure enough I didn't find any schematic/boardview.

Toshiba Satellite P55-A5104SL - corrupted BIOS
Hello all
Model - Satellite P55-A5104SL
Mainboard - VGSG MB Ver:2.1
All flashing done w/CH341 adapter & EEPROM chips off board.
PROBLEM:
After updating from BIOS 1.70 to 1.90, it shows Toshiba logo and halts. I narrowed it down to a possibly corrupted BIOS. How do I know? There is no similar machine in the forums, so I tried a dump for another model with same mainboard (L50-A-19N) provided by @ala_borbe in this thread. Flashed this...Last edited by sndestroy; 05-09-2021, 12:22 AM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello there! i'm Victor from Santiago, Chile.
I work at technical (level 3, ie. board-level) repair & support for a big brand of radio comms equipment. And in my free time, I like to dabble with anything electronic that falls on my hands: vintage computers, car infotainment/control, computer parts, electric scooters, TVs etc. Sometimes for profit, many times for fun.
Knew about this forum for YEARS but never registered, partly 'cause my English was piss-poor back then... not anymore thankfully....
