Re: Samsung DTB-H260F HDTV Tuner
Hmm... That's a possibility. Any idea where the voltage regulator might be located exactly? Here's a picture of the patient, just in case. Sorry for the quality, but yeah....

Re: Samsung DTB-H260F HDTV Tuner
I'm pretty sure my DTB is suffering the same issue. Though, I found something unique in my troubleshooting so far... I've had the Samsung for 6 years now and the brown board still appears to be operating normally; the LED light remains lit after 8 seconds and there's no sign of any physical damage. I did notice the dead air on my monitor screen that shows no picture nor sound.
It attempts to power on, but remains pitch black with occasional scrambled artifacts before going dark again. The power board seems to be unaffected...Last edited by teamfx; 01-08-2013, 08:13 PM.

Re: Samsung DTB-H260F HDTV Tuner
Thanks for all the vital information regarding capacitors. I was just thinking earlier about preparation for the inevitable on my set top box. I've had the Samsung for 4 years now, if memory serves me right, and it is still hanging in there. I may have to get a couple more caps for an older STB from another manufacturer that we have. It suffered a burnt cap about 6 years into owning it, so better now than never to replace it.
