I'll buy a new monitor anyway, and try to fix the one that is malfunctioning. If I succeed Ill use the old one as a spare. I try to have as many spares as I can. I have a spare motherboard, and cpu lol. Thanks for the reply.

I have an Acer AL1916 monitor. It goes blank and the light above the power button blinks green. This happens when the computer is off for an extended period of time and it takes some time for it to right itself. I am reading other posts about this problem and wonder if its a waste of time for me to even fix it.

I have an IT background and took electronics in high though I am rusty. Any ideas on what I need to get this thing working and how long should I let it discharge? Thanks
